Harold with Archadeck was extremely helpful determining the materials, colors, and railing when we completed our re-deck. The process was completed as it was proposed. Great experience!

I hired Archadeck to design my backyard and initially my experience was pleasant. However, once I committed to a design and signed a contract with a deposit the owner became less responsive and every interaction was an excuse as to why my project was delayed.
After the owner kept providing a myriad of different excuses and eventually eschewed communication, I cancelled the contract at great personal expense.
This company seems overworked, overcommitted, and unable to get a crew to work the contracts they acquire. Don’t be surprised if the company treats you with the same disregard I experienced.

The Archadeck team replaced an old deck for us. They guided us through the decision process and delivered quality work and materials. We are using the deck now more than ever. They were professional through out.

We used archadeck to rebuild and improve our deck. The quality and customer service exceeded my expectations by far. Harold and Nolan worked hard to put together more than one design idea together for us (as we were somewhat indecisive on a couple of features). They were able to create and show us a simulated version of how our project would look in the end. It really helped to visualize our thoughts and have them give their special touch to our ideas and make some suggestions that we didn't even think of. We had Cam and Drew as our build team and their constant attention to every detail was exceptional. Harold and Nolan were great with giving updates on material deliveries and where we were at in the next step of the build. I can not recommend them enough if you're looking to build a deck, or create a beautiful outdoor living space. We are beyond happy with our new deck and look forward to all the time we will be spending on it with our friends and family!

Very, very happy with the design and craftsmanship of our new deck by Archadeck! They were able to put my thoughts for a new deck into an amazing plan and design that includes a 2 story fireplace, with bottom being 2 way, brick to match the house, incredible lightning and an amazing outdoor kitchen. We couldn't be more happy then how the deck turned out. It is definitely are new favorite spot for the home and we are using it alot! This project was a huge undertaking and Harold and his team, Jonathan the builder knocked it out of the park! They listened to my suggestions from beginning to end and incorporated my changes even after near completion. Thanks again for what I believe to be one of the best in Iowa!Services: Deck installation

Good quality of craftsmanship. Poor level of customer service and communication during the entire process (which was almost 200 days from start to finish) Updates/information/issues during the process had to be initiated by us, and responses were not prompt. Explanations to us regarding the reasons for building supply delays vastly differed between the on-site deck builders and company ownership. We’ve never paid $26,000 for this level of frustration before in our lives….

We had our deck built by Archadeck many years ago. After the derecho in August 2020, our deck needed many repairs, and the tree it had been built around had to be removed. We opted for a new pergola to replace the shade of the tree. From the initial design to the end product, Harold and his team were professional, transparent, and flexible. We again have a deck we can enjoy and we practically live on it when the weather is nice. I can't say enough about the crew that came in to build the pergola and repair our deck. Efficient and hard working, they consulted with us on different decisions and gave us excellent advice. I would highly recommend Archadeck of Central Iowa.

Archadeck of Central Iowa helped design and build our 3 season porch, fixed a roof issue and rebuilt our front portico. Harold and team were always professional, met all expectations and delivered an amazing end product.

Chose Archadeck to update our deck in February. Installed new railings, cedar ceiling, and built privacy wall on one side. They worked with us on design & changes to our project, even providing suggestions on how we could reduce expenses. We were very satisfied and would definitely recommend.

Had Archadeck do my deck in 2005. NOW completely rotted needs placed. They left some boards unattached and despite callbacks never came back to fix them. The design was spectacular but the price was very high. Would not have them again.

We hired the Archadeck team to redo our backyard deck so that my father, who is wheelchair bound, could enjoy the deck. We also replaced the aging retaining wall that was basically integrated into the old deck. We couldn't be happier with the results. The new deck is perfectly flush with the door so my dad can roll out easily. The deck and retraining wall are beautiful. The sod was beautifully installed and cleaned up the back yard well after the unavoidable yard damage caused by the construction. I received clear instructions on how to care for for the sod. All subcontractors were polite and friendly to work with. I would happily work with Archadeck of Central Iowa again and recommend them to friends and family.If I had to bring up one thing their team could work on, other contractors I've worked with tended to be a bit more responsive. I'd usually expect to hear back from a contractor I was currently working on a project with inside of three hours or so on a business day after asking a question. Working with Archadeck, there were a few times it seemed a communication would get lost for a bit. In the worst instance, I called their office with a question about next steps for the project at 11:02 AM on a Tuesday, after an additional email and phone call I got a reply in my email at 5:07 PM on a Thursday. Didn't hurt anything, all deadlines were definitely met, and that happened in the early part of the Covid-19 lock down so there was definitely other stuff going on. That was also the worst instance, usually they did better than that, even if there were a few other times things slipped a bit they weren't as bad as that was. I'd still happily recommend Archadeck of Central Iowa. I bring it up more to give an idea of what might be expected and hopefully you know I'm being honest when I say everything else about the project was perfect.

We had a great experience with Archadeck. They were able to start and complete our new deck a month or two before anticipated. It’s beautiful and the lighting makes it even more beautiful. The workers were very nice and polite.
