“Today stopped in to our Dollar Store in Story City and we had a very pleasant experience. The last several workers never got the shelves stocked or cleaned, we then drove to other towns to shop. Today Aisle we passable, shelves stocked and clean environment. I complimented the manager and 2 workers and checked out with over $100.”

607 King St, Jewell“Stopped in for their lunch kumla meal. 10 minutes after they started serving they were out of the large meal. We got the small meal ($5). Boy was it good! Be there as soon as they start serving 11am, or you may not get any.”

3619 Stange Rd, Ames“This place, as well as all Fareways, are soo clean with friendly staff. I won't but meat anywhere else. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that not all of the stores have the same floorplan. If you're used to 1 store and then go into another, there is no guarantee the items you're looking for are in the same location.”

819 Wheeler St # 5, Ames“This place is smaller than some that I've been to but they had EVERYTHING you could want! They had green tea Kit Kats which are hard to find. I was so exited for find kimchi, endless types of dumplings and ramen, plus everything I needed to make pho from scratch! So excited I found this place and get creative with dinners.”
“We have driven by this iconic farm stand numerous times when traveling to visit a loved one in Story City, but this time I decided to stop. I am grateful for the beautiful experience of visiting this Story City landmark!Located on US 69, just a few hundred feet northwest of the 115th Street road that leads into Story City, Slim's Country Market is a gem. Celebrating its 80th year of providing quality produce, fruit, and goods to the community, Slim's has so much history oozing from its onsite photos, and its product is sensational.I loved the interior, the great products to pick from, the quality all around, and the relatively new ownership has a great way about themselves, being kind and helpful. They have great ice cream, honey, local fruits, and knick-knacks. Good BBQ sauce also! I heard a lot of good vibes regarding their annual July peaches, lettuce leaf, and butter lettuce! But the highlight of the visit wasn't the food; nope, it was meeting Jon, whose family ran the stand for almost seven decades. Jon told us about its history and showed us photos with tremendous pride. I loved his passion for the community and their ongoing kindness in the community's retirement facilities. Jon is a wonderful person and made our visit so sensational. We will ALWAYS visit Slim's from this point forward, as the visit was great and its people and product so warm and inviting.”
