Great prices and friendly staff, they have a hot food section as well which is nice. Took away two stars because of the men’s bathroom. Came in Thursday and it was pretty bad, came in Friday and in the same condition, luckily I stand to pee so didn’t really have to touch anything ? other than that I’ve on had good experiences

Sam’s grocery carries frozen Udi’s gluten free breads, blueberry, and English muffins, as well as spring water, organic mixed greens, spinach and Romaine lettuces, several different oat and Silk almond milks plus locally butchered meats. Sam’s serves the school district, hunters, fishermen, home canning community and gardeners seasonally! You may buy Lake McBride and Spartan clothing as well as seasonal necessities.Sam’s also serves the boating and snowmobiling community! He stocks Iowa made laundry detergents, and quite a few UNscented products, too!You may buy homemade breads straight out of the oven and all of the locals newspapers.UPS and dry-cleaning drop off is convenient there! Enjoy a fresh-brewed cup of coffee while you shop mornings! Sam will also order anything that his suppliers can obtain. There is a large selection of sodas, beer, and bottles of alcohol, plus bagged ice, fire ring wood, and propane tanks. The varieties of fresh and frozen foods, deli foods, prepared foods, pantry items, toiletries, cleaning items and a little bit of everything for everyone makes an impressive small town grocery store! You CAN buy lobster tails, buffalo and elk meat, local eggs and have choices in every category of foods. Impressive!

Expired food on the shelves. Brown spoiled meat in the meat case. Refrigerated goods sitting on floor waiting to be put away.

Very mixed bag. The staff and Sam are helpful, friendly, and ring you up quickly. That being said, there is a very limited amount of options for certain groups there. It seems they do not care about stocking organic, gluten-free, allergen-free, non-gmo, etc. items. Most of their meat and dairy is at or near expiry. This does not affect the actual purchasing or items as much, but their branding and business equipment is incredibly outdated. I doubt they've changed their logo, paint job, registers, etc. in over 20 years! In conclusion, a grocery store with very convenient placement, but sadly, lots of expired food and very outdated. They need some changes.

I like that it’s convenient but the problem is that everything in this store is always passed it’s expiration date. Sometimes it’s by a whole month. And the price is double what you would pay if it was at Fareway or Hy-Vee. Surprised their still in business.

Camping from out of town with 13 kids. While it's a friendly hometown place with decent selection turns out the frozen meat we bought that was dated for over a month away was rotten and the two watermelons had been froze at some point. Not really happy about the wasted money

Terrible products at their store. All the meat, dairy, and produce is expired. And costs twice what you would pay at Hyvee. I live in Solon and never shop there.

Sam's is a great place to 'Shop Local' !Just recently moved to the Solon area and appreciate a small local store to pick up a few essentials! Sam and his staff are always helpful and even answer phone calls in person! Sam's operation hours are generous for a small town and cater to its patrons. It's a real gem in this day and age ! All communities need a little place like this !

I'm a new resident in Solon and really appreciate the small town, full service grocery store! Great selection of beer, wine, and liquor and a surprisingly large selection of everything else you might want to find in a grocery store. Sam and staff have always been super friendly and helpful.

Very convenient locally owned and operated grocer. Great parking, live bait and licenses, and good staff/ownership. Has everything you need in a pinch and more.

Zero patrons using masks and only one employee doing so (with the mask not covering their nose). Will not be returning
