They are a great small town pharmacy with a diner inside. The staff are great, very attentive. Make simple sandwiches and soups, have some amazing ice cream!

Started using Penn Drug last year for all of my pharmacy needs. The staff is awesome, prices are great, and they have all sorts of cool stuff in the store for purchase. Plus they have tasty treats! Love this place, highly recommended.

I just wanted to share the great experiences my husband and I have been having with our medications! When Jay Drug closed in Shenandoah our prescriptions were transferred To Hy-Vee and after several bad experiences we decided to give Penn Drug a try. We couldn't be happier! The phone is always answered and the ladies in the pharmacy are so helpful! The prescriptions are delivered right to my door and delivery driver is very

In addition to the annual PRCA Rodeo every August, Sidney a small Iowa town, 45 miles south of Council Bluffs, has another claim to fame. Penn Drug has been in business since before the civil war, owned and operated by the same family. In addition to a full service pharmacy, Penn Drug has an old fashioned 'soda fountain" where you can get authentic, hand made malts. sodas, phosphates and floats. Like many "old style" Drug Stores (before the"big box" invasion) Penn's carries a little bit of everything. You'll often find 91 year old Bill Penn still behind the pharmacy counter, filling prescriptions as he has since the 50's. Never too busy to answer questions about your medications or discuss current affairs in our little town, Bill is a community icon! Whether you're in the area for "Iowa's Championship Rodeo" or a leisurely picnic at Waughbonsie State Park (with magnificent views of the Missouri river bottom from the scenic overlook). A trip to Penn Drug for a malt or a soda, hand made and simply delicious, is a must in a visit to an often overlooked corner of Iowa, less than an hours' drive from the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area. Check it out, you'll love it!

The pharmacists are always so helpful whether you are there for a prescription or some other item. The store has many wonderful gifts and greeting cards. Also they stock medical needs which is great so I don't have to travel out of town to find them. And the soda fountain. Thank you Penn Drug!

Best place around. Angie goes above and beyond and Lou is great too! More than a pharmacy. Would rather do business at Penn Drug than anywhere else! (Sandwiches are great too)!

Angie is one of the nicest people I know. She will do anything to help you out and get what you need. Angie and Lou the pharmacists have opened after hours for me, so we would get the medicine for my kids after and ER visit. She has special ordered items for an elderly friend of mine, so we could get his home ready to come home to. She is ALWAYS looking out for my special needs kiddos and their needs. They always deliver to us, because there are days that are difficult for me to get out of the house and go up there. My daughter has also worked for Angie and absolutely loves her. The soda fountain and soda jerks are the best! Customer service is a 10!!!!!

I stopped in to pick up a get well card at the pharmacy. Along with the usual medical supplies you would expect to find in a pharmacy they had a wide selection of novelty type items and cards. The best though was a beautiful old fashioned soda fountain.

Many fond memories of this family business. I might not be here if it weren't for my mother working there as a teen and my dad coming in to see her, in his shy quiet way falling in love and courting her. I remember coming in for lunch when I was a senior and my friends and I feeling our first stirrings of independence approaching adulthood. I love Penns!

Great place! Friendly and helpful. Ice cream/soda fountain are fantastic and my kids favorite! Can't wait to see it once the remodel is complete.
