Amazing experience at the Mill and museum. So much history and so many artifacts that are interesting and full of culture. There is a good mix of things you can and cannot touch making it a great spot for younger kids.

Lots to see and explore. Taking a tour of a working windmill was a first for us. Some stair climbing but not difficult. They do have a elevator for those that need it.Definitely worth the cost. If you like the complexity of wooden structures this will appeal to you. Mortis and tenon frame work with a explanation from the guide of different hard woods used to build it. Kids would like the miniature village they have of a Dutch town and seeing the windmill from the top. Really worth the money. Plan on spending 2 to 3 hrs exploring the Dutch village that's included in your admission price.

It is a wonderful educational place, and it is a working windmill. The tour, the guide, and the engineer are wonderful. They are really really nice and knowledgeable. We learn a lot about the windmill, the Dutch people, tulips, and its cultures. Also, how those things are related and how it involves with the town, Pella and the locals. This windmill is the gem of the town. It is definitely a must if you are in the area.

Admission is $15 per adult & they stamp your wrist so you can come and go all day, if you like. Shopping and dining are walking distance. The historical village has a home Wyatt Earp actually lived in for a time & have recently added an audio tour that is very nicely done. There is an old mill with working water wheel & koi fish in pond you can feed for 25 cts. Other buildings had nice displays for that Period of Time and there were lots of pretty flowers to enjoy as you walk around the village. I went with someone that has mobility issues & he was able to walk around easily but there are also plenty of benches to sit & relax in shade if needed. There is a very nice gift shop & friendly staff. They have ice cold sarsaparilla to purchase if you ask.Windmill tour starts with a short video, then a guide takes you up elevator to the miniature Holland Village that is very impressive. Then up the elevator for tour of the Vermeer Windmill to see how this windmill was constructed & where the grain is ground into flour. They do not grind grain daily but you are shown how it works. Then, you must walk down 4 flights of stairs to exit but the guide will have you stop at each level down to see more displays & a living quarters for people who worked & lived in windmills.I really enjoyed the tour & museum. I definitely felt like I got my money's worth!
