Spahn and rose is my go to hardware/ lumber yard. I purchase all my building products from them. The folks at the desk always have time to explain what products are right for my job. If I have questions they take the time to answer in a way that I understand. And they are there if I have any issues after installation. Yes, there products might cost a little more than the big box stores. But the service far exceeds their competitors. And there may be delays. With the pandemic it seems all venders are struggling to meet demand. I have learned to be patient.

Ply gem siding and your supplier now have a worse rating than this. Received my corners, siding and utility channel, but you and your suppliers and ply gem manufacturers cant come up with, I can't even remember how many I have ordered it has been so long maybe 10 or 15. Anyway it has been a month. My thoughts are to tear it all off call the newton store to pick it up and find someplace else.Mark Quinn

So there used to be another lumber company in this location but I can't recall the name. Never had an issue with them. So spahn and rose opened up here and a couple years ago, I came in and bought one sheet of wood and they cut it how I needed it. About 6 months ago. I wanted a small chunk of wood to for a project I was doing. The gentlemen who answered the phone said we don't do that here. And hung up the phone. It was an older gentlemen. I didn't really think too much of it and I just went withouy doing the project as it was just for fun. Fast forward to a few months ago and I was redoing my couch, giving some life back into it and I measured the seating area of the couch. I asked my husband to call and he was given the same response "We don't do that here" and my husband was going to ask about custom ordering it but as soon as the guy said we dont do that here he hung up the phone. No goodbye or nothing. So I called and said very calmly and nicely that it was very unprofessional to hang up on someone, and he said if someone gives him attitude, he's going to give it back, my husband said he was very kind about it, and I told the gentlemen that even if a customer has an attitude, it is your job to remain calm and not be unprofessional. At this point, I had had enough of his attitude and I asked for his name because I would be making a complaint, and he said I'm going to do to you what I did to him! And he hung up the phone.I did contact someone from their main office, I believe his name was Ryan. He was very apologetic, and did everything he could to fix the problem. He said that he has had things cut many times before, and that their company is always willing to go out of their way to make a customer happy. Side note: The gentlemen who was rude. I do not believe is a good representation of Spahn and Rose and that he was just a bad seed. Ryan went to the Newton store, and cut it for me personally. Unfortunately because of the verbal abuse, I don't want to conduct any business at that location again. I will have to travel about 30 minutes somewhere else, but I don't mind. I am not sure if I would refer someone there again because I don't know if the problem has been fixed.

The people there are very nice and very helpful prices are a little high I think but it's better than driving 25 miles

Love the great customer service at the local lumber yard. Nice quality lumber, they had everything I needed, and helpful service. Thankful for the local shopping.

I called politely to ask about improvements on my home, and needed just a slate of wood. The man was very rude and said "We don't do that here. I offered to pay to have it custom and he hung up on me. I have been disrespected before by this company. They don't know how to treat people or potential customers.Follow up. My wife who was also grossly mistreated was called back by Ryan one of the regional managers I believe, after contacting corporate. They kindly listened and apologized. Also took our measurements and agreed to help us. They went above and beyond so we thank you for the compassion and understanding and wish this company and all its employees a long a prosperous life.

It's a great place to get lumber shingles siding plumbing plus they deliver to your house or business .It's a very friendly place do do business with that home town touch .
