The 72!! Year old driver of this company hit our parked car in a bar. The parking lot was in rural Missouri at a BAR!! There was a restaurant next door that was closed. Only the bar was open! DOT does not allow truck drivers to hang out at Pubs. As a nurse I am concerned about a 72 year old man passing a DOT physical. The driver immediately told us, “We don’t want to file with our insurance company we’d like to take care of things privately.” Of course not wanting their insurance company to know the dangerous activity of a driver of an 18 wheeler going to a bar. We spoke to the owner and he refused to pay us a measly $5,000 for a vehicle that has a new clutch, new tires (those cost a fortune) new radiator, and new front end. My husband spoke to the owner and he refused to provide us with any compensation: rental car, tow truck, money to get a new vehicle. Our small car sustained a bent frame from a fully loaded 18 wheeler backing into our car, pushing is 10 feet into another vehicle. I am a breast cancer patient and rely on this vehicle to get me to my appointments in Little Rock. It is a travesty that a trucking company engages in this type of behavior, hanging out at bars, hitting innocent peoples cars, and refusing to take care of us. If it was me I would not be using this company with my trucking needs. Kathryn Johnson BSN MSN RN Paul Johnson BS, RT Cert.
