Do not adopt a cat from this breeder!
(I wrote this review before, but the breeder deleted her business from Google in an attempt to hide this review. She's done this 5 times now)
I am writing this review so you don't go through the sadness and grief that my family went through over our pet Euphy. The breeder will say I am lying, she has also threatened to sue me for libel, which she can't because I'm not lying. She has also told me multiple times that her husband is a cop for some reason..
We adopted a 12 week old, blue, male abysinnian from her in February 2016. We named him Euphrates, but we always called him Euphy.
Right away he had obvious digestive problems. He was straining to go poop, and when he would, it was almost always diarrhea.
We took him to the vet many times. At first the bacteria in his intestines were off, so we had to put him on a daily medicine along with a prescription food that would be more gentle on his GI tract. After a few months we learned he had giardia, which we quickly took care of, and he seemed better for a little while.
Then the diarrhea came back and we couldn't cure it. At this point he had been to the vet over 10 times, and has been on 4 different medications. Keep in mind he's only 8 months old at this point.
He ended up getting severely dehydrated. He was so skinny and fragile at this point, he looked like a 20 year old cat. At this point we had to bring him to the veterinary emergency room. He ended up staying there for 3 days. He was hooked up to an IV for the dehydration, they performed an ultrasound on his belly to look for irregularities, and they also did some kind of test on his liver.
They discovered he had a misshapen pancreas, his intestines didn't absorb nutrients properly, and his liver was failing. He was also very anemic, jaundice, and still losing weight.
When we brought him home from the ER he was on a ton of medication. He would take 1 pill and 1 oral injection in the morning, and at night 2 more pills and 2 more oral injections. He also needed a vitamin B12 shot once a week.
No matter what we tried he never got better. Believe me, we did everything for this cat you could imagine. Overall he went to the vet about 15 times. We brought in stool samples about 4 times. We had to buy several different types of prescription food, wet and dry. We tried every test, treatment, and medication they offered us. He ended up passing away early February 2017, less than a year after we had adopted him, he was about 14 months old.
The vet recommended that we get a necroscopy done on him so we can figure out what the problem was all along. They said in a lot of cases, the breeder will pay the bill for the necroscopy because they value the information for the safety of their cattery and the genealogy of their cats. We contacted this breeder and asked her if she was interested in getting a necroscopy performed on Euphy (the test is $220). She said no, and that those tests are "not accurate." We decided to get the text done regardless. The test results confirmed he had FIP.
When I informed this breeder that Euphy had FIP, she assured me that this is the first cat from her cattery that she's ever heard of having FIP. I asked her to at least pay for half of the necroscopy, because I had to share the results with her, but she refused.
I personally do not believe this is her first case of FIP. I think that if that was truly the case, she wouldn't have a problem paying for the results of the necroscopy.
Sorry for the long review, I just wanted to be very thorough for anyone considering adopting a cat from this breeder. Do not buy a cat from this breeder. It is very hard to see such a young cat get so sick and pass away... We really hope no one will have to go through what we did again.
Please just go a shelter. This is a backyard breeder, and you will get a sick cat

We had a great experience with Brenda and Sumatra. The best part was how willing Brenda was to talk about everything, including pros and cons of Abys, if makes and females and of getting 2 kittens. It was an easy dive to IA to pick him up.Our Aby Loki is a dream. Even our vet thinks he is a remarkably good-looking cat. Loki is so much fun and is a cuddler, too. He is very smart. He’s also fearless. He and our dog and a rescue tabby kitten are best buddies and have tons of fun racing around the house and snoozing together.

I purchased a bengal cat from Brenda and she was very nice and met us half way to pick up the cat. The cat was in excellent health and I haven’t had any problems with her. She gets along with our other pets and is very intelligent. I would recommend Brenda for anyone who is looking for their own special furry friend.

I bought a kitten from Brenda around 4 months ago. I went to her place to pick her up and was very surprised at how clean and friendly her environment was. My kitten Snickers is the sweetest kitten I have ever owned. Snickers has surpassed all my expectations of what this breed should be like as far as health and personality. Brenda was such a joy to deal with and answered all my questions. Took the time to make me feel comfortable with my kitty before taking her home. Would recommend this cattery to anyone looking for a new fur baby.

We bought a bengal for over 1,000. In December 2016. We took her to get fixed and could not because we were told she had a bad heart. I contacted Brenda the owner and she said to get her fixed anyway and if it dies she will give us a new one. We explained the vet refused to risk doing the procedure. We had already bonded to the cat and asked for 500.00 back since we were told the cat would not live a full life. Instead she said would give us a new cat for free. In july of 2017 we picked up the new cat and it was sick within a few days. We spent over 2,000 in vet bills trying to get her care. She finally tested positive on a FIV/Felv test. We had the vet give the sick kitten to cat sanctuary with other cats that have fiv/felv. Brenda knew we had two other cats. And she still willingly gave us another sick cat that could have infected our other cats had we not kept them separated. I do NOT recommend getting cats from her. She us not a responsible breeder.

So clean and well run! The cats and kittens are healthy and happy. Brenda is so knowledgeable and friendly; she makes purchasing a kitten a much more comfortable experience. I would recommend Sumatra Cattery to anyone.

We adopted an abby from this breeder, and he died 12 months later from a disease (FIP) that he contracted from this cattery. He also came home with Giardia, which he contracted from this cattery. This breeder does not sell healthy animals. When we confronted Brenda (the breeder) about our sick cat, she was not interested whatsoever. Our vet suggested that we offer to share the necropsy report with the breeder. Our vet also said, that if she ACTUALLY cared about the genealogy and the health of her cats, that she would offer to pay for part of the necropsy report. She did not wish to be a part of this procedure. The necropsy report showed that our cat died of FIP. We confronted the breeder about this report, and she has been aggressively avoiding our attempts to contact her. We have requested a refund, since our cat died within the first year. She refused to give any kind of refund or compensation. She has, however, offered to give us another (sick) kitten, which we are NOT interested in. We spent $1,000 on our abby kitten. We spent an additional $5,000+ in vet bills in an attempt to save his young life. The amount of money that we spent on this sick cat will never outweigh the grief and heartache that we suffered because of Brenda. Please, for the sake of saving yourself and your family a great deal of heartache and grief, DO NOT BUY from this breeder. I would be more than happy to speak with anyone regarding my review. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions. Thank you, and God bless.
