Quite upset actually. I was out there two weeks earlier, parked up by the handicapped area because there was no one there, was by myself on a Motorcycle and I didn't want my bike sitting alone across the street. No one bothered it, but a family of kids arrived and parked in the handicapped spot.Just last week I brought a friend to see it, on Motorcycles again.. parked again at the Handicap area because again it was only open another 45 minutes, no one was there, but 4 workers, they never even talked to us, avoided us and we couldn't even ask if it was ok. The two of us parked in "one" spot and the park ranger showed up and gave us each a ticket for $100. No one was there and then he says. Don't forget we close in about 20 minutes.I get we parked in a bad spot, but this was really petty!!!! They were closing. He could've just given us a warning or something!!I'll tell ya right now.I'll NEVER take anyone else there ever again. The parking lot and the place is not biker friendly, it's usually unattended, and it cost us $200 for 45 minutes to close.Disgusted!!!!!!!!!!

Ran into this place while camping at the Scott County Park, doing a review on it as well. This place is basically attached to the Scott County Park and is really a must see. Free, donations requested, but for this step back in time the donation is a no brainer to keep it alive. It's much large than it looks from the road and would be real easy to kill several hours at seeing how it used to be. Old time Soda Fountain on premises to wet your whistle as well. As much as enjoyed it, I had to threaten the wife with leaving her if she wasn't coming out to the truck. So yea, I spent another 45 minutes sitting in the truck LOL. This really is a neat place and with the park right next door you could spend several days here without camping and have a good time.

Walnut Grove on the north end ofScott County Park. It is a must see. They have a ice cream parlor open on the weekends throughout the summer.Scott County dismantled and trans ported all these buildings from different places around Iowa creating a outdoor museum. They also have one building filled with antique farm equipment. It’s about a 10 minute drive north of interstate 80 and five minutes east of Highway 61.

Attended Pioneer Days with our grandkids. Fun time listening about the history of how things were done in years past. How people worked, lived, and communicated with each other. Operator assisted calls. The grands had a great time.Price for entry: $2.00

A pioneer village is always a cool place to visit for an immersive walk through history. Here you can see buildings and artifacts from the mid/late 1800s to the early/mid 1900s. A donation is suggested but admission is free. Parking is free in the lot across the street.

Very beautiful church to get married in ... went there for my granddaughters wedding so beautiful. Inside of the church is nice and outside the church is gorgeous too. It's not real big inside but I think it holds about 50 or so guests.

We had our wedding ceremony here and it was perfect. The coordinator walked us through everything in great detail and made expectations clear for us and our guests. I would tell anyone to look into this venue for a beautiful Classic wedding ceremony.

It's a great experience for kids to see what life was like back in the day. Typically on holiday weekends they do some reenactments which is nice and very well done for educational purposes. The snack shop is open during the summer season and weekends. Spend a few extra dollars to get a sweet treat and support a great cause.

The only complaint I have about this place is the time slots could be an hour or so longer. Just not enough time for all the pics we wanted. Beautiful venue, pics do not do it justice. The owners are very accommodating.
