Iowa Barbeque Company
100 Plymouth St W, Le MarsI visited here from out of town and showed up within a half hour of closing. The employee that helped me was very kind and accommodating. I ordered a meat platter. The brisket was a bit dry and lacking flavor but definitely not bad. The pulled pork was moist and tasty. The turkey was pretty good and the chicken was even better in my opinion (moist juicy and smoky). The burnt ends were pretty decent but not what I would I would consider burnt ends because of the lack of bark. Even so, they were tender and moist. My two favorite items were the sausages (mild and jalapeño cheddar) and the ribs! The sausage was very tasty with balanced flavors. Also, the casings had a great snap to them. The ribs were tender, moist and smoky without falling off the bone. There was still a bit of bite left, which I like but that's also personal preference. I tried all 4 sauces and each one was delicious. Whichever type of sauce you prefer will definitely be tasty. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. The pickled veggies were well done and added a nice pop of acidity to the rich and smoky BBQ. The slaw was slightly sweet, crunchy and delicious. Overall, it was very good and definitely a gem in this small town. I'll be sure to visit again if I'm ever back this way. Good work! ??
