This was a very cool little museum with lots of history packed inside. Was only $5 to get in and worth every penny. Growing up with a father that worked on the illinois and Mississippi River it brought back a flood of memories. First picture is one of many boats that my father worked on. Captain David Todd is his name. Sadly he passed away in 2020

We had a great time! We had 4 kids (age 7-11) and there were so many fun things to check out. The one room school house and boat deck were the faves. Also impressive how many old timey celebrities have ties to Iowa and Illinois. This is a great experience (also adding a meal at happy joes and checking the river front after make for a great outing!)

This is a great big museum of Eastern Iowa and the Mississippi River in a not so big building. I love the discussions that I have with my family in museums and this museum has so so much to talk about. The admission is only $5, so you can stop in for just a bit and come back over and over. Take a selfie with a buffalo, find museum pieces that were part of your childhood, look out at the river while you're on a river boat. Don't miss this museum and keep going back.

The Buffalo Bill Museum has a lot of artifacts from this significant figure during the transition from the old west to our more current society. Buffalo Bill and his wild west show presented a lot of entertainment, but also the fact that they existed recorded certain things into history. Some exaggerated versions to be sure, but still it offered a glimpse into the American life. This is a dedicated place. With some artifacts that are clearly quite personal. If you've ever heard of Buffalo Bill or been intrigued by his story, then this is a good place to go to learn more about Buffalo Bill.

Very well done museum. Lots of touchable things, the full size powder wheel boat, we spent quite a while there. And it was museum week, so they had BOGO. Five bucks for two? Where can you get that?

Hidden Gem, was not sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised at vast exhibits and information Buffalo Bill. They also had a bunch of other historical exhibits relating to the area. They also have attached a 1800s steam Boat. I was impressed that you could actually board and tour it. They have videos that you can watch for the boat and Buffalo Bill. This is a self Guided Muesum no tour guides.

A collection of many different items. You can learn about Buffalo Bill, see an old school house and a river steam boat. They have an Indian display, flight recorded,... so much to see. Plus they offer senior and AAA discount rates.

I came here not knowing who Buffalo Bill was to being completely interested in all of this amazing Iowa history. The staff here was friendly and it's honestly the best 5 bucks I've ever spent on a tour that kept me satisfied for hours. You get a self guided tour of life in Iowa learning about historic local figures, you can even go on this old wooden boat! Definitely worth checking out.

Why. Old. Dusty. Ick. I don't get it honestly. Nothing of interest really. Does anyone even know who he is anymore? Waste of space in my opinion.

We heard from family that this was a neat stop. My kids don't generally do well with museums, but figured it was inexpensive and worth a shot. There was no wait at all. We walked in and the front desk greeted us gleefully. We paid and she started telling us how to navigate. Then, she breaks out scavenger hunt sheets for the kids!! They've never been more excited to explore a museum in their life. There was plenty of artifacts from history about not only Buffalo Bill, but other historical figures & events of the town.I love aviation and the father of the 'Black Box was from the area, so they have a few of his early pieces on display! We thought this was going to be a quick 20 minute stop and we walked around for over an hour, and we could have easily spent another half hour or more watching the educational videos about the displays.Overall, it's very affordable and worth the time. I definitely recommend the stop!

There is so much more to see here then we ever expected!!! The admission was just $5 for adults and we saw and learned so much while here. There are artifacts from many different decades to experience and learned about as well as helpful videos. And to top it off, you can see and walk through and old paddle wheel boat. All the parts are marked and explained as you got through it. Truly just a great little museum. We expected to be there half an hour and ended up spending almost two hours inside.

This is a hodge podge of LeClaire Iowa history, antiques and a little bit on Buffalo Bill Cody. There is also a tug boat/paddle boat named Lone Star in the next building. William Cody was born in LeClaire Iowa. I liked the stuffed buffalo and bison statue outside.

The buffalo bill museum is a well put together exhibition of the rich local history. I talked the the gentleman who runs the museum and he was welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate. They have some excellent memorabilia and artifacts. One of my favorite parts is the restored wooden steamboat. It's an incredibly interesting exhibit to explore. Worth the stop. I would recommend having at least an hour or more.

Great museum for $5. Definitely worth the price. There is a school room set up and a steam boat. Lots of little rooms here and there. A surprising amount of artifacts.
