ATE ONE IN AND DINED OUT TOO. I CAN EAT A MAID-RITE ON THE ROAD WITHOUT SPILLING ONE MORSEL OF BEEF BITE ON THE FLOOR OF MY CAR OR DRIVERS'S SEAT! THAT IS A SPECIAL IOWAN SKILL! I LIKE MINE WITH KETCHUP, MUSTARD, & SWEET RELISH (NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE, DISAPPOINTING, AT THE DINERS!) GREAT TASTE! I'M SALAVATING NOW JUST WRITING ABOUT THEM! CHOC SHAKE AND FRIES/ONION RINGS AND A ROOTBEER SMALL CHASER! Mmmmm Outstanding!(Years ago, they said if you weren't offered a Spoon wt your sandwich, you were given the burger for free!) TOO COSTLY TO DO NOW! HAH!

This is the best maid-rite I have had in years. Everything was hot and fresh. Even the buns were fresh.

Travelers need not wait long after crossing the border into Iowa to enjoy an Iowa classic, the loose-meat sandwich known locally as a Maid-Rite. Served traditionally with your choice of ketchup, mustard, and perhaps pickles or cheese, the sandwiches are simple, yet filling. You can get pop or a milkshake to compliment your meal. There is a gift shop attached to the restaurant.Parking: Plenty of parking is available, though some of it is gravel.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant and gift shop are accessible.

2 Sandwiches were cold & onion rings only half done. I could have spent that whopping $36 on something much better. Won’t be

Stopped in on way back to Des Moines from Texaa and 4 people working yet nobody came to counter to assist. No wonder why this company is losing franchise owners. Harf to get smart help!No help no food. Bought candy in the general store and stopped at Arby's in Osceola up the interstate.

People let's greet your customers in a fashion that is pleasant. We stood at the counter 9 minutes and never git a response until we asked if you were open just to have you say don't sit at the counter! We own restaurants in Des Moines and Lake Panorama and work our tails off for quality service and presentation. Sent email to Maid Rite Corporate that you need re trained here or the owner needs to revisit your skill set. Your poor demeanor is nit an attractive trait.

Could’ve just been the day, but waiter clearly didn’t want to be there. Food was great. We love stopping here.

My grilled chicken was the worst sandwich I have ever had! No flavor and super dry! I couldn't even finish it. And apparently they leave their squirt ketchup sitting out overnight and our bottle was starting to turn rancid so I went and asked for to go packets of ketchup so I knew my ketchup would be fresh! Price was way too expensive for the quality of food.

I had eaten here before passing by from a vacation. It was so good my girlfriend and I made a road trip from Des Moines for lunch. I was unhappy with the bun. Way too big and not much meat. Disappointed.

I haven't eaten the food, but the store is a must visit whenever I'm passing by, and the food always smells so great!

I have been to maderite many times. Their burgers are phenomenal and usually the customer service is outsanding. I would recommend the classic maderite sandwich, fries, and a shake of any flavor. They have amazing chicken strips, but their chicken sandwich lacks is many ways. It is a very generic chicken patty and the bun is 60% of the sandwich. Personally, if they used their chicken strips as the patty for the chicken sandwich, it would make it 1000 times better. They were out of beef and 80% of the menu is beef product. Overall, Maderite is a very good place to eat with family and friends.

convenient location just off the interstate attached to an Amish bakery and gift store just across the way from the Kingdom Hall. light crowd for Sunday afternoon but it's early October and the weather just turned cool so maybe that's part of it... typical counter service with slightly different offerings: I got a larger version of the namesakes sandwich and my lovely bride opted for some chicken and a biscuit, add fries and potato salad for sides and we can call it a meal. maid rite are loose meat sandwiches - lightly seasoned ground beefs on a bun (imagine sloppy joe without the savory red stuff holding it together) with options on ketchup, mustard, onions and maybe a pickle. broaster chicken is a lot like fried but made with better hardware resulting in a more appealing basket o' chicken parts. after living in Iowa for several years I half expected this would grow on me but like most regional dishes it hasn't quite: not a meal for the ages but it was good enough for lunch.
