“It's always a great visit. The ladies there have gotten to know who I am and they always have my mail in hand so I can just do a fast walk thru right back out thevm door and on my merry way. Thanks for being so nice every time I stop in.”

“They have the best employees at this location.I usually print out my labels at home and drop my packages off at this location. One time I had an international package and was going to pay/fill out the customs form in the office. I forgot my wallet, offered to just come back the next day. The sweet lady working told me she would pay with her own money for it to get shipped out and I could pay her back the next time I'm there. I came back the next day of course to pay her back, that was very sweet and generous on her part.”

“Too everyone complaining about their delivery of mail. As someone who has a direct relative that works for USPS, it is NOT the carrier's fault for the way the system is set up. The USPS is an antiquated system and needs a major overhaul. The carriers are great, hardworking people and work extremely long hours. You can see them driving around the neighborhoods sometime at 8-9:00pm. Believe me when I say, they are overworked because of how the system is run by upper management and Post Master. Be kind to your carriers please. They are just the messenger.”

“Unbelievable staff. Everyone is working hard to make sure all needs are fulfilled! Even though the parking lot is packed you would hardly be able to tell. The entire store is operating so smoothly. The isles are clean and friendly. The staff is oozing helpful smiles. I got everything I need, mailed a packages, made a great friend and was on my way. I will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this location. Special thanks to Mark P. A gentlemen. A saint. A savior.”

“The workers are so helpful and kind! I am grateful to have a small and accommodating post office in our community. They do close for an hour over the lunch hour. So be aware of that when dropping off a package or going to send something.”

“This is my favorite post office to use! Staff is always friendly, attentive, and well educated on current USPS standards and rules. The building is pleasant and not post modern eye sore like others in the Des Moines metro. Our mailman goes above and beyond in his work.”

“Younger woman running the counter was nice and helpful. She walked me through which type of shipment would get the package to it's destination by Monday (it was Friday when I visited) with tracking. I think the bad reviews are more for the postal delivery drivers than the actual walk-in location. Also grabbed some stamps because I'm loving the new designs.”

“I receive my mail out of this post office facility. My mail delivery people are nice, efficient and they have 99% accuracy in delivery of correct items. I seldom go to the actual location but when I have the staff have been very nice and eager the assist me.”

“Disappointed to see the negative reviews. I have never had a bad experience here; the staff have always been friendly to me, and I have always been able to find out where my mail is (and never had any disappear). Especially being new to Iowa, this has been a pretty good experience for me. Considering this isn't a post office (just a processing facility), I've been happy to find that the staff always have answers to the questions I ask.”

“I acknowledge and respect that USPS is a government agency dedicated to serving its citizens, and I want to clarify that my intention is not to show any disrespect towards the hardworking men and women who diligently deliver our mail and work in the warehouses to ensure efficient mail distribution. The purpose of this message is to address the leaders who oversee USPS boxes and drop-off locations. It sometimes feels as though USPS discourages certain individuals from using their services due to the lack of convenient after-hours drop-off boxes that can accommodate larger packages. As a business owner, my schedule often prevents me from shipping items during regular business hours. There are instances when orders come in after hours, and my business requires prompt shipment. However, the only drop-off box in the city that can accommodate my packages is located at the 2nd and University USPS facility. Unfortunately, during holiday hours, this box is frequently full, causing delays in my shipments and negatively impacting my business.I kindly request that USPS consider providing additional locations where I can conveniently drop off my packages during closed hours. While there are other shipping services available, I prefer to use USPS for my business. However, the current limitations in drop-off options make it challenging to continue doing so. As a shipping company, it would be greatly appreciated if USPS could ensure accessible and efficient drop-off options for businesses like mine.”

“Staff are really nice. Never an issue. I wish the hours were extended though just a bit. I work the standard 9-5 kind of job and thats the po box hours... Makes it really hard for me to try to get here to get to my mail. PO box access is available limited on saturday but most of the time they hold the item instead of putting it in a box so I have to speak to someone to get it.... Which means I can't get it on saturday. The hours are my only issue here. Location and staff are great.”

“They had trouble getting in to my locked condo building to deliver my crib mattress, but when contacted about it they went above and beyond to get it to us. Great communication, great happy dispositions! Thanks for all you do USPS!”

“Love this post office and the two ladies that work there! Have gone there for big mailing projects, smaller mailing situations, a new passport and a name change on my passport. Every single time...the best service, super quick and so knowledgeable. But, the best part is that they are so friendly and authentically happy.”

“Received wonderful training here to be a Clerk at the NDC. From Cindy Lamb, and O'Hara! Much love and thank you! In spirit with me always :D. The training here got me into a career that led to making the rest of my life far better than it ever could have been without it all. Thank you! God Bless the USPS and U! S! A!”

“Great location and is surprisingly efficient and effective (especially considering some reviews listed here). I've always been able to use the kiosk, go online ahead of time, and minimize any waiting. It's completely fine and is as intended/required/imagined/designed for. It's not meant to be a concierge level service provider.”

“I had an international package that was supposed to be here on 11/28 but U.S. customs held my dress in there forever. Anthony helped me track down my package, it was supposed to get to me the day after I left. I got a notification it was at the Ankeny post off as I was heading to the airport for vacation. I Asked them can they please check for my package. They were so kind! Anthony looked high and low. He found it. It’s the small things these days. I can’t thank the team enough.”

“Woman I interacted with was lovely, but they don’t take credit cards which was frustrating, and the delivery attempt slip nor any signage in the waiting area shares this bit of information. Resulted in me having to make two trips.”
