Our child attends here and we love this daycare. The leadership and staff are caring, attentive, and professional. We were hesitant about sending our child to a daycare center but this place has put our minds at ease. We have toured several daycare centers in the area and nothing compares to the Johnston New Horizon Academy. They do projects, learn songs, and have a curriculum full of fun. Any concerns we have/had have always been quickly addressed. It is a little pricier than other daycares in the area, but it is well worth it.

Very welcoming, open communication, and all the teachers follow the classroom routine. The director and assistant director are very approachable and always available if there's ever a concern. So glad we made this change 5 months ago!

My daughter has been going to New Horizon for about two months now after we moved from another part of town. She loves New Horizon! We drove by her old daycare, and she almost cried thinking she was returning to the old one and said, I want to go to my new school! The rooms are open with many windows, and they have a communal center room they call the "great room" where they can come together and have inside recess. The classrooms are set up for their educational success. The director is communicative, and all the teachers we have interacted with have been great. We are very happy here.

Our son was here for over a year. Lots of turn over but Amber was great in the twos room- he loved her! Management at times was very unprofessional and rates were increased without notice. We often times paid tuition in advance but stopped because our checks would be cashed for the week, but then also still pulled from our bank accounts.

We have two children enrolled at New Horizon Academy. As a former teacher, I am so appreciative of New Horizon’s commitment to educational curriculum. Both of my children are learning so much, and I feel confident they’ll be well ahead of the curve when they enter kindergarten. The staff are kind and caring and in constant communication with parents. The current administrative team is awesome - Tara and Darby are organized and make a point to get to know each family. I can’t imagine sending my kids anywhere else!

We love going to New Horizon Academy! Every teacher and administrator we have met has been professional, friendly, and caring. I was nervous to take my son when I returned to work, but it has been amazing for the both of us. He is getting the care and education needed and I’m getting tons of pictures and updates! They are constantly engaging the children to support their growth and development. More importantly, they keep sanitizers in each of the classroom so toys and bottles can be cleaned and they supply wipes which helps with the cost! Highly recommend!!!

We have two kids at this center. Like many child care centers - there were some turbulent times during covid related to staffing. Now that there's been a new administrative team in place for the last year we've seen exceptional results. Our kids are well cared for, teachers are great with communication, and they are constantly learning new words/phrases and surprising us at home. Each classroom has a set curriculum that allows for exploring new units/themes appropriate for the kids' ages. Would wholeheartedly recommend this center to anybody. The new admin team of Tara and Darby go out of their way to make you feel welcome and that attitude has trickled down to all the teachers.

We HIGHLY recommend New Horizon Academy. Both of our kids (3 and 1) have been with the center since they were 4 months. All the teachers are absolutely amazing. Adijana in infants, Alex in ones and Amber in 2’s—just to name a few! Tara and Darby do a phenomenal job and their communication is superb. They have clean facilities, large classrooms, do lots of activities and we feel our kids learn a lot!

We were in search of a day care that our 2 year old would have great structure, fit with my 10 hour work days, and that we could send him to part time so he could still enjoy a couple days with grandparents throughout the week. Tara (Director) and Darby (Assistant director) were friendly and easy to work with. The prices are worth the quality of care and education I can tell my son gets and he has just done so well with their environment. Highly recommend!

We've had a great experience since starting at New Horizons in May of 2023. The leadership team is responsive and caring. Our 4.5 year old absolutely loves her teachers. Looking forward to seeing her continue to grow and learn as she prepares for Kindergarten.

Our son has gone to New Horizon Academy for 3 years and they do a great job with him. They have so many toys, learning opportunities and great teachers. They are knowledgeable and willing to work with our son’s special hearing needs. He’s learned so much from the curriculum at NHA. The staff has always been kind, and they have great parent communication.

Amazing leadership and group of teachers! They take the time to get to know the whole family, not just the students. The teachers provide individualized approaches that meet your child where they’re at. Very clean building with large classrooms and wonderful playground.

I highly recommend New Horizon Academy in Johnston! My son is in the one-year-old room and loves all the teachers and staff. Tara and Darby have done an amazing job since they started last fall. The center is always clean, all children and teachers seem so happy. My son is always exited to go in and hug them every morning. My son has learned so much and advanced a lot in his speech since starting NHA. He comes home saying new words we have not worked on yet. His teachers truly care about him, and our family and we are very happy to be here!

I REALLY wanted to like this daycare. It seemed very clean and modern and the staff was friendly and supportive, at first. Then the closings started I was missing 3 days of work per week because the center was short staffed. I understand that we're going through a pandemic and everybody is short staffed but being a single father of 2 it's crucial I have appropriate child care. The bad part is they would give me notice at 5-6am the day they were closing. I work at 7 so this caused alot of issues for me at my job. Things did start to get better and they brought in more staff and for a few weeks my (autistic) son had a wonderful teacher who was very attentive until they moved her somewhere else. My son had 8-10 different teachers in the couple months he was there.I would pick my son up and he would be so soaked and dirty that he could barely walk. They told me they couldn't change him because of some policy. Towards the end of our stressful experience at New horizons the director told me they couldn't keep providing care for my son because the staff wasn't able to care for him. I was able to get him into the child serve day program (thank God) and on June 13th i pulled him out of New Horizons. Then today I look at my bank statement and find that they are STILL charging me for tuition for the past 2 weeks!If you have a special needs child or a child that requires a little extra attention this DEFINITELY isn't a safe place for them.

I had my two daughters enrolled. There are no words that can describe how awesome they are ad how happy I was when my daughters were here. The center is very clean, great staff is great and the facilities are very accommodating. Shelly the director of the center is so so awesome! Very knowledgeable and kind as well (Something you don't find everywhere). My oldest daughter engaged with her teachers and after she moved to the preschool room she still had a great relationship with her previous teachers. Miss Angie, Miss Diana and Miss Megan were great! Very caring and we always felt welcomed. The daycare is also very diverse with families from around the world. They offer language classes and other classes that are a great way to engage your kids in different learning activities. Rates are very comparable to other centers around the area. During COVID they handled the situation very well with constant cleaning, great communication with families and protocols on how to enter the room. I felt my daughters were safe.
