Check out the burgers they are selling at fast n fresh Johnston! Completely raw in the middle. There might as well be bells on this thing. I took it back and they wouldn't give me another burger at fast n fresh because I didn't have the receipt, even though I had 100% of the burger in their packaging. I gave them the burger back at fast n fresh and left. I went to the service manager on duty, the lady with the bold, green lipstick, told me they need a receipt and that's the policy. Neither one of them apologized for selling me raw cow.

My brother and I recently received excellent service from this grocery store right before Thanksgiving. Also, the adjacent liquor store had a nice selection of nonalcoholic beers, with a very helpful staff.

The food at this store is typically expired on the shelves. Their produce such as blueberries you get them home and on closer inspection half are wilted or has mold at bottom. I checked for weeks on potatoes in frig section and each week it was the same expired bags of potatoes. They were a month expired and still on shelf. If you shop here make sure to inspect expiration dates and examine fruit and bay lettuce.

Apparently their policy of "if the shelf price and the scanner don't agree, the item is free" has gone to the wayside. Item was marked 4/$5 on the shelf, register price was $2.59 each. As all the registers were self-checkout, the one visible clerk had to fumble around to figure out a way to correct the error and at least give me the correct price. No service at the meat counter or butcher shop later at night. I guess this is what happens when corporate is too busy trying to run a racetrack, sell clothes, and sling shoes.Only came here because it was late and Fareway was closed. I'll try to plan my day better next time.

This store has extremely poor customer service. Often I have had to ask up to 3 different employees just to get an answer to a question, or location of an item. The checkers never thank you for your purchase, never! I must always check expiration dates on products, including meat. Produce is usually in poor condition. Hy Vee was at one time a good store, but I refuse to go there a y more, even though it is only 1/2 mile from my house.

I cannot recommend enough to avoid this Hy-Vee and just go to fareway down the street. I’ve been here on multiple occasions where the self check out registers do not work. When you put items in your bag the register says you’ve added more than what was scanned when not the case then asks for a manager to approve. This isn’t the problem though, the problem is there’s literally no managers or team members in the front of the store to help. You have to spend 10 minutes running around the store to ask someone for help when you used self check out in the first place to save time. Successfully spent more time trying to check out than even getting my grocery’s and ended up having to just use a different register and rescan all my items -10/10 recommend.

Please have your weekday cooks in the Market Grille train the weekend cooks. We waited almost 2 hours for our breakfast this morning, each person’s food came at different times and the bacon looked like it had been cooked for the whole time we were there. Our server was apologetic and I definitely do not blame her as she was the only server for the entire place. Another table left after waiting 45 minutes.

After waiting 10 minutes on the phone to get a question answered with no response, I'll take my business to Fareway.

I'm giving this store a one star only because none isn't a option. This store has employees working at it that could care less about customer service. I have been ordering groceries delivered from this location for over a year and they have yet to get a order completely correct. Store management pays lip service to the customer when they call in, apology after apology but no change. My most recent dealing was with a person by the name of Tristan, supposedly a manager with the Hy-Vee Aisles department. During a conversation with him about another failed order he told me that he doesn't care if I get my order and I can take it up with someone tomorrow as they store was now closed. He clearly cares more about his personal time when he is being payed to care about his job.I wouldn't recommend this store if it could be avoided.

I have been a loyal customer at this store for 17 years. I love the pharmacy and they know me by name. I didn’t mind paying higher prices bc the convenience of a small store was worth it. My grocery trips average upwards of $300 every couple of weeks. Lately, this store has been a disaster. They keep moving everything around and every time I turn around, they don’t have something I’m looking for. Many times I have bagged my own groceries bc they don’t have enough staff

They recently went to ALL self-service checkout lanes. I didn’t mind if they had a couple for express lanes but the move to all lanes is ridiculous. Demographics of that location has caused unnecessary backups and it takes forever for someone to respond to the HELP light.

My husband went this evening to get our family of six’s groceries and they ONLY had self check out available. The staff were trying their best to be helpful but when you are still ringing up your own groceries and bagging- it’s not smooth. When I went over the weekend there were only two checker manned aisles. Please bring back at least a 50/50 split of self check out and checker manned lanes. This does not work for my large family.

It’s horrible to see stressed out and confused staff standing next to the self check out lanes. It’s no way to treat your staff who risked their health to work during Covid outbreaks.

This location has gone to all self checkout lanes. The lanes have been installed too close to each other so if it is busy the customers in the other lanes are closer than 6 feet. Also families/groups are moving around more in the checkout area because they are all busy scanning & bagging which also reduces your ability to distance. I totally understand that self checkout will reduce employee contact, but there need to be dividers and more space between lanes. Also there should be at least one lane with a clerk for the elderly, handicapped etc. It is quite a bit of work to scan, lookup produce on the screen, organize & bag your groceries especially when you are trying to keep a distance.
