I've been living in Johnston for almost 5 years and using this pharmacy. I don't have any complaints that I can recall. They're normally nice, friendly and professional. If anything I've been the one that's been occasionally grouchy and they've handled it professionally, so thank you very much Hy-Vee pharmacy!

Horrible and disrespectful service. They’ll blame the doctors or delivery drivers so they don’t have to take responsibility. Medications are CONSISTENTLY late. I highly highly recommend to not utilize them for your pharmaceutical needs.

Night and day the difference between the Grimes/Johnston Hy-Vee pharmacies. Firstly, the Hy-Vee Grimes was much better as a standalone shop than in its current role as a big box pharmacy. That being said, even with a higher volume, the attitude of the Grimes team is far superior to the Johnston one. Consistently rude service, poor communication, lack of empathy. The only reason we use Johnston is we can't use Grimes for delivery.

Consistently rude service. When I say thank you, they just stare blankly back at me, no smile, no you’re welcome, nothing. I have a prescription on back order, and when I had the audacity to ask when they think it may be available, the look on their face was like I asked them to hand over their first born child. This is from both techs and Pharms. I get that they have been overworked with the pandemic, but there is better basic customer service and people skills from teens working fast food and retail. Only giving them two stars rather than 1 because technically my prescriptions have all been given to me correctly.

I’m about to log a formal complaint to the medical board and pharmaceutical regulatory of the United States and believe me I will make it my mission if it’s the last thing I do to get your license revoked. You do not treat your foreign clients with respect. I have never been disrespected as much as tonight and refused to receive my medication. You want to serve only Americans , now you will see the American come out in me. Most disrespectful people I have ever seen!

Worst Pharmacy I have ever been in. Was told they would give me a partial prescription until they got more in. Then went to pickup and was told that since I switch pharmacy's due to them being rude.I could no longer have partial prescription. I will never be back. Consumers beware.

Usually don't have my prescriptions filled and extremely rude last time I went and picked them up. I called in advance and was told it would be ready in an hour I was like okay that's fine I gave them 2 hours and went through the drive up. I wasn't being rude or anything and asked for my prescription and they said oh we haven't even started on it. It was a long day I just wanted it done and ready to I could go home so I had to wait for it. Then the lady got an attitude when I asked if I had to sign and said well you seem in a hurry and said well do you wanna sign really rudely I don't appreciate being spoken to like that just do your job correctly.

This store has extremely poor customer service. Often I have had to ask up to 3 different employees just to get an answer to a question, or location of an item. The checkers never thank you for your purchase, never! I must always check expiration dates on products, including meat. Produce is usually in poor condition. Hy Vee was at one time a good store, but I refuse to go there a y more, even though it is only 1/2 mile from my house.

I cannot recommend enough to avoid this Hy-Vee and just go to fareway down the street. I’ve been here on multiple occasions where the self check out registers do not work. When you put items in your bag the register says you’ve added more than what was scanned when not the case then asks for a manager to approve. This isn’t the problem though, the problem is there’s literally no managers or team members in the front of the store to help. You have to spend 10 minutes running around the store to ask someone for help when you used self check out in the first place to save time. Successfully spent more time trying to check out than even getting my grocery’s and ended up having to just use a different register and rescan all my items -10/10 recommend.

Please have your weekday cooks in the Market Grille train the weekend cooks. We waited almost 2 hours for our breakfast this morning, each person’s food came at different times and the bacon looked like it had been cooked for the whole time we were there. Our server was apologetic and I definitely do not blame her as she was the only server for the entire place. Another table left after waiting 45 minutes.

The person who commented, "staff are not very friendly" was spot on. Called to ask a simple question, and spoke to the rudest staff member, Jen. Customer service and being nice to people really isn't that hard - if she is so bothered by patients calling with questions, I think she should find a new profession! Yikes.

It never fails at this location. No matter when the script is called in it will NEVER be ready when you get there. You could give them a whole week and they’ll still tell you 10-15 minutes once you’re actually there. Maybe if the staff quit constantly talking over one another they’d actually know what’s going on and could get things done efficiently. Time to find a new pharmacy

I have been a loyal customer at this store for 17 years. I love the pharmacy and they know me by name. I didn’t mind paying higher prices bc the convenience of a small store was worth it. My grocery trips average upwards of $300 every couple of weeks. Lately, this store has been a disaster. They keep moving everything around and every time I turn around, they don’t have something I’m looking for. Many times I have bagged my own groceries bc they don’t have enough staff
