Sales side is good. Service side is terrible. I’d recommend going to Graham Collision or another local body shop if you ever need repairs. :)

Kirk Lemon,,,,,,,What can I say. Kirk is my guy at Acura. From the very beginning, when we first met, I was very comfortable with Kirk. He was so easy going it was just like speaking with a friend. He showed me exactly what I wanted to look at without any interruptions toward selling something else that I didn't want. Kirk even helped me while he was on vacation. Kirk was very knowledgeable about the vehicle I was looking to buy and he was very helpful. If you're headed to Acura to look at vehicles I suggest you ask for Kirk.
From beginning to end, my experience With Kirk at Acura was excellent.

I purchased a 2024 Acura MDX on January 15th, 2024. After the purchase was completed, I was asked by the sales manager if I could write and give the dealership a good review. This review is far from good - BUYER BEWARE!!!
The following events are not an exaggeration but facts of my experience with Acura of Johnston. A month after I bought the car, I encountered a nonconforming engine discrepancy; knocking, rattling, and a rumbling sound when pressing on the gas pedal. Additionally, the engine would shudder upon starting and shake the car; abnormal for a new car. I took the car in for service February 13, 2024, and was told the issues couldn't be duplicated. I was told that they drove a number of MDX's and they all had the same noises, etc.
On March 15th, I took the car in for maintenance for the same issue, I received the same response. April 9, 2024, was the third time I brought the car in for the same non-conforming discrepancy. The service technician miraculously diagnosed the engine: hooked up scan tool, test drove, and took snapshot of the vehicle when cold, found MISFIRE on no. 1 cylinder, checked and adjusted valves, found valves were OUT OF SPEC. A new car with only 4363 miles should NOT have this issue!
After the car was allegedly repaired, I drove it off the lot, and the engine repeated the issue. April 15th, 2024, I took the car back to service again. An Engineer from Acura visited the dealership and allegedly tried to diagnose the engine discrepancy. His idea of a corrective action was driving 4-5 MDX's around the parking lot.
The engineer report concluded that my MDX was characteristic at this time; no repairs recommend. I guess all new MDX's are okay to have knocking, rattling, and a rumbling sound when pressing on the gas pedal because an "engineer" said so. What a joke! Nonetheless, a service campaign will occur in a few years as other MDX's have had in the past.
I bought a Lemon from a dealership whose only solution was to put me in new MDX, but wait, here's where I get jerked around financially. I would have to start a new loan while my 4 months worth of payments would amount to nothing. It gets better, my girlfriend and I were in Ryan's office (assistant store manager), discussing all of this, and he explicitly stated, "we're in the business to sell cars, not fix them." This is where I lost confidence with this dealership. It's definitely an example of bad customer service. It was a terrible deal and didn't accept the other car.
Dealerships do not like doing warranty work because it is financially disadvantageous to them. Also because the manufacturer pays them less for the work than they would charge a cash customer for the same work! I gather this dealership isn't as profitable as other Acura dealerships so they treat customers this way and brush issues like this under the rug.
At this point, per the Iowa Lemon Law, I'm taking action by contacting Acura to submit a motor vehicle defect report to their certified dispute program. Hopefully all of this can be resolved through Acura's Alternate Dispute Resolution process.
In closing and above all, employees at Acura of Johnston are [not] friendly with their fake smiles [especially when they make a sale], but when matters like mine occur, they turn their backs; phone calls to management (Ryan) aren't returned, and emails to Craig go unanswered! Simply, I was told they said we did all we could do and take it up with Acura. None of this right! PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS CROOKED DEALERSHIP or ANYTHING FROM the LITHIA group!

Everyone we encountered was fantastic, including Jimmy, Ryan, and Kirk. After an unexpected issue with our car, they worked with us on a very short time table to help us out and treated us more than fairly. We were lucky to have come across this dealership and will use them in the future. Thank you for all your help, you guys are awesome!

We had a great experience buying our car from Kirk Lemon recently, compared to other sales representatives he was much better informed, more professional and most importantly he is much better at listening to his customers’ needs and wishes for a new car than others. In short, Kirk was by far and away the best sales representative we met with and a pleasure to buy a car from.

Welcoming feeling the moment me and the family walked through the door. The customer service was great, everyone was nice that we interacted with and Jimmy worked with me very well. Jimmy answered all my questions I had especially coming from a 4 hour drive one way. I have no complaints about this dealership and would recommend this to anyone!
