I went to the store with my husband and 19 year old son. We do not live in Iowa City, they came to visit me on my work assignment for Mother's Day weekend. They waited outside for a moment while I went in to the shop to finish their conversation. My husband is 6'1 and admittedly overweight. When he came in, she immediately inquired as to his intentions. She...apparently was disturbed that a male came into her store. It was such a strange encounter .... but she did say the following: she didn't want 'cross dressers' trying on her clothes because they stretched them out. My husband was not there to try on clothing, as a side note. I have seen plenty of cis women try on clothes that were too small for them. I go to consignment and thrift stores all the time, and I have NEVER seen an owner or employee act like that. I own a ton of luxury pieces purchased both new and thrifted. The store had hardly anything I would call 'upscale'. One overpriced-for-condition Chanel bag was about it. I bought a JJill top in a color I missed within the last few seasons. So, if you are trans or cross dress, you may want to avoid this place. Or if you love someone who is trans or cross dresses. It was absolutely bizarre.

Odd store. Owner seemed friendly on the phone but when I went in to drop off items to consign whichever employee was working that day had an attitude and was quite unpleasant to interact with. Most of the clothes I brought in were not accepted because the tag manufacture date showed they were made 2-3 years ago, despite them being in excellent condition & classic styles from quality brands. It seems like an odd policy for a store to not accept a wool LL Bean coat because it was manufactured two years ago, but isn't above selling Lulularoe. Overall the store has a very "mature" feel, to put it politely, and whoever is curating the inventory determined to be good enough to sell seems to be very out of touch with styles desirable for anyone younger than 60 years old. Perhaps the most memorable part of this store however is how badly it reeks of the Jimmy Johns sub store next store to it. I can't imagine what the clothes smell like once you get them home! I will not be returning & would not recommend consigning or shopping here.

I come upon the Savvy Boutique while out shopping one day! It’s a great little store and has quality clothing for a great price! I love that you get a welcoming experience every time you go to shop!

Lisa and staff are very kind. Cute shop with nice selection of items for women of all sizes. Also have some great purses, jewelry and accessories. This is my new go-to consignment boutique!

Lovely shop and owner. Lisa makes shopping so fun and I always find something wonderful. The boutique is well organized and the merchandise is displayed so nicely. Well edited pieces. Lisa does all the work for you. All you have to do is stop in and see what I mean. You will be so glad you did.
