Just sad the bakery doesn't take custom orders. They reduced their available vegan options to boring chocolate and vanilla. Was hoping to order a different vegan cake but apparently whatever is online is what you can do.

This place is horrible. Everything is overpriced they do not like ANY minorities and for the people that worked there are tired.

I love this place! I grew up in Iowa City and this was always where we shopped because we were a family of food allergies. I went back while visiting in Iowa City and it brought back all the feels. The Coralville store is nice and larger, but this is the original and a gem. If you are vegan or dairy free, the vegan cheese selection is insane! I've lived in a handful of larger cities and no where has even come close to the vegan cheese offerings here! The freshly made food and desserts are awesome too, with many vegan options!

High quality staff and products. Iowa city wouldn’t be the same without this place.

I stopped here during the Iowa Hawkeye Homecoming parade last Friday night. A lot of the parade "floats" were staged near here, which I really enjoyed, especially when the University Band started up. I also wandered into the Co-Op and ended up with a few snacks to tide me over before the College of Engineering family event. I found it a little small as far as Co-Ops go, but there were still lots of healthy choices. Half the fun was listening to a bunch of well educated and interesting store staff and customers talk. That's one of the cool things about University towns.

They have a nice little area to sit and eat. Overall the store was very clean and had a nice layout. It would be nice if there was decaf coffee prepared for folks in the afternoon. And access to a drinking fountain would be great! I purchased coffee beans, seltzer water and a scone. Delicious! A sign asked customers to use individual tissue papers or tongs to retrieve bakery items. I couldn't find either. Still a nice place I'll revisit.

Overpriced and pretentious. This place used to be a gem in Iowa City's crown. Somewhere they lost the plot completely. It's an organization run for the benefit of the staff, who are universally disgruntled burnouts. There's nothing here you can't get elsewhere, other than Garlic Lover's Pasta, which, while delicious, is inconsistent and overpriced. Management/leadership seem intent on running it into the ground. The business model is incoherent, but seems to rely on the assumption that there will always be people in Iowa City with more money than sense.

All the staff are great, anything you need to know they figure it out for ya! Things aren’t cheap but I mean they have a lot of things and lots of organic stuff and diet friendly. So that’s the benefit of coming here :)

Great place to shop for organic, healthy, and local food, but definitely a bit on the expensive side.

Great little co-op close to campus (University of Iowa) and full of healthy choices! We stopped in on our way through on a road trip!

I got my friend’s wedding cakes and it was a great decision. All cakes are beautiful and delicious with healthy options. The cakes became a great decoration for the wedding party. Thank you, New Pi Bakery!
