Horrible company! They could afford to do that when they were a monopoly, but now they're not. They better get their act together or they're going to lose a lot of customers. I'm one of them.

The price gouging is insane. "Upgraded" my service because I was somehow using more than what I originally signed up for, however, I lost the new customer promotion rate even though I was only a customer for two months . Then on my next bill, I was charged an extra $70 for upgrading the service during the cycle but the bill says it applied for one week. What a sham of a company. Don't use their services.

Mediacom is a complete scam. Mediocre internet, HORRIBLE customer service, and just found out they are raising our monthly rate from $50 to $70. They did not tell us the $50 rate was a 'first year promotion' and it came as a complete surprise to see a significantly more expensive bill for two months in a row now. Will be cancelling, would not recommend this company to anybody.

Had a great experience with their performance and installation technician Jordan, who came and installed in my home today. He was polite, professional, helpful, and even took in delivery packages from my porch (ha-ha). The internet service was up and running smoothly within 20 minutes. Very pleased with service thus far and very happy with their professional and kind performance technician.

On September 6th, I paid my monthly bill, in person, at the Mediacom office in Iowa City. I got a receipt.Yesterday, September 12th, Mediacom cut off my service-TV& internet.I contacted them by phone and I was told that my service was cut for non payment.I was forced to use my credit card, to pay over the phone, to restore my service. When I looked at my bank account, on line , I could see that my check of September 6th to Mediacom went through. The Mediacom customer service people refuse to acknowledge this payment by check even though I have proof that they cashed my check!I have paid my bill twice this month.Medicom: I will be finding another provider. You have stolen my money and you have lost another customer. Guessing you don't care...

The Internet worked fairly well the first two months then about three days ago it started acting up. Periodically it goes out without warning. Not sure why. All I can do is unplug the router and modem for a few minutes and then plug them back in and the Internet works for a couple of hours before it goes out again. Very frustrating to say the least. If the service tech coming out in four days doesn't resolve the issue I may disconnect the service and go with a different provider. I had CenturyLink for almost five years and rarely had any kind of issues/outages and no data cap either. Mediacom is a company that needs to go out of business already judging by the other reviews.

I waited for an entire month for internet only to be told my building was not able to be services by mediacom. Customer service was incredibly not helpful and was only worried about keeping me as a customer. The best thing mediacom did to me was recommend another internet provider to get service through.

My husband and I recently moved into a new home and decided to get internet out back on with Mediacom. Earlier yesterday afternoon the install guy showed up his name was Conrad. Conrad was pleasant and polite, he kept us up to date with what was going on and the process it would take for us to get internet to our new home. Conrad came back with bad news that he would have to come back tomorrow due to not having the equipment needed. Today Conrad showed up on what he later told us was his day off to make sure we got our internet connected. This man was awesome, he went above and beyond with customer service. He was respectful of our not so people friendly dog, chatted with us about what was needed and was efficient at installing after getting the go around of bad luck due to how our house is set up. He left extremely late just to make sure we had internet for tonight. This man deserves praise for how awesome he was. I truly have nothing but good things to say about Conrad and hope that Media Com can see his potential in the customer service industry.

Fraud. Deception. I was overcharged a minimum of $1500 with zero notification until my bank contacted me. Mediacom told me it was correct even though they’re the ones who recommended the service plan I was on based on my usage and claimed they would notify me if they were going to charge more than the $50 a month it was supposed to be. Horrible. They claim everything was correct even though there was zero occupancy in the home for 6 months. Unbelievable. Guess I’ll get a second job to pay my mortgage and other household payments. Thanks, Mediacom.

I was returning a router for my roommate as a favor and wasn’t too familiar with what the customer service person would need. The individual at the desk was rude and making fun of my lack of knowledge when returning the router. It was extremely unprofessional. I had stated that I was doing this for a friend and that I wasn’t quite sure what all they would need and he still took it upon himself to make fun of that. He spoke to me like I was a child and laughed when I didn’t have the exact answer. We had nothing wrong with the account, I was just returning it because we were moving/graduating, it should have been a simple visit but he made it uncomfortable and demeaning.

Multi billionaire Rocco Commisso's company Mediacom hired a debt collection company to call me today for $30.1. I had Mediacom for my internet @ $49.99 per month.2. I am part of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) a government program that helps low income households afford internet service through various providers. The program gives your phone/internet provider $30 per month, making my bill 19.99.3. In March, without notice Mediacom increased my bill to $89.99.4. I called to ask about switching promotions & explained the $40 per month increase was not within my budget. They had nothing to offer so I canceled my service in March of 2023. I paid my last bill 39.99 & canceled the service. The ProblemWhen I canceled my service ACP recinded their $30 payment to Mediacom. Now it is the end of May & I received this phone call that I have a past due balance of $30.No bills were sent, no request for payment, no notices in my email, no phone call from the company. Nothing, until today.I am a person with a limited income, on a program for assistance with excellent credit because I always pay my bills on time & in full. I live on less than $780 month. I am happy, mostly healthy, & I do not spend needlessly. This call should have been avoided & the stress of talking to a collections agency would have been non-existent. However, the company spent money on the collection agency, had to pay the people who worked on this issue & they did not get their $30 from me. Mark this up to corporate greed. Hire & train people to work with your customers, don't increase your rates on customers that already qualify for low income assistance.I will never do business with mediacom again! Read the reviews there is a reason the have a 1 star rating.

Service is terrible - consistently drops connection, customer service representatives are uneducated, worst internet experience you could imagine. Signed up for South Slope today - they have great deals right now, switch over for a better life.

Worst internet we have had. Constantly drops out and have to reset modem, and when you talk to them the soonest they can send someone to "look" at it is a week to 10 days out. Last time someone came to "look" at our internet the tech sat in his truck for five minutes, didn't even come to the door, and then just drove off. This is the worst internet provider in the area and I am actively talking to other providers. Mediacom does not seem to care about their customers satisfaction.
