Horrible experience. . . Initial good impression went south just shortly after our down payment was made.The lack of communication and professionalism was over the top poor. Customer service person ,Jordan, went out of his way to try to make things right. Was so tired of the whole thing, felt like we just settled at the end. I would not recommend this company to anyone.Services: Kitchen cabinet installation

Barb and my contractor, Mr. Griffin worked seamlessly on my kitchen and bathroom projects. I was overwhelmed, as we were only the second owners of this 1960's home and felt much needed to be updated to our needs. They were true to their word on timing and products and Mr. Griffins' subcontractors timelines. It was not stressful and timely as our past remodels have been on another older home. Barb was immensely helpful with her many ideas and years of expertise, always returned my calls AND even checked on the project personally . Mr. Griffin is a superior contractor and his expertise on finishing work is unbelievable. If we ran into a problem, as you do with older homes, he had solutions that worked ! I plan on doing my next two bathroom remodels with Miss. Messer and Mr. Griffin. Very pleased!Services: Remodeling

We are always very happy with the service and products from KBD. We've remodeled numerous kitchens and bathrooms and have had nothing but great experiences. The staff is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with. We've ordered cabinets that cost less than big box stores all the way up to high-end, custom lines. We highly recommend them!

Our downtown Iowa City law office needed a facelift. KBD worked with us on every single detail, and worked hard to make sure we were completely satisfied with all the materials, the overall design and the budget. Barb was patient, understanding and very good at taking accurate measurements. Our new work areas are now filled with light and the cabinets are functional and proportionate to our spaces. She prevented us from making design errors and contributed to a fantastic final work product.

Barbara designed a kitchen remodel for my 100 year old home and hit it out of the park. It is not only beautiful , it is brilliantly functional. She also designed a master bathroom and closet in a small addition. She asks a lot of questions and takes the time to get you exactly what you want.

As a self proclaimed do it yourselfer, I was hesitant to let someone else design and install our counter tops. But, after working with KBD and Ontario I won't use anyone else. Everything was very easy, reasonably priced (including installation), and was exactly what we wanted. They really care about their products and services.

We worked with Ontario & she did an excellent job of meeting our wants & needs as well as coming up with some creative & beautiful ideas for our kitchen. She was also very helpful with helping us remodel our Master bathroom with some new cabinets & hardware. We are very pleased with our new kitchen & bathroom counter tops, cabinets & hardware. Thanks for making this a great experience for us! WE will be back for our next house & we look forward to working with Ontario again!

My husband and I worked with Barb on our kitchen remodel. My husband installs cabinets, and does other carpentry work for a living. He is not a designer, and refers all of his clients to Barb first. She understands the intricacies and pitfalls of kitchen designs. She is very aware of current deals, is honest about manufacturers and will not setup a project to fail. Our cabinets arrived exactly when she estimated. If you want something she will do her best to make it happen, but will also give you a straight answer if it isn't plausible. She is caring, loves her work, and wants to make your dream come true. We had three different ideas, and she helped us pick the best option balancing price, layout and intended use. Her enthusiasm is contagious. We highly recommend her.

I have worked with Barb at Kitchen By Design on several projects. Barb assisted my husband and I on remodeling our kitchen in our home. I came in with ideas of my dream kitchen, Barb worked with me to achieve my vision. Barb does a nice job of listening to my ideas, but is comfortable to make suggestions on how I might want to adjust my vision. Recently we decided to down size and moved into a new condo. I struggled with moving because I would be leaving my dream kitchen. My husband, with his great wisdom, suggested we reach out to Barb to help redesign the current kitchen in our condo. Again Barb was excellent to work with. She helped me redesign a tiny kitchen to an amazing kitchen with enough cabinet and sitting space to become my new dream kitchen. Because of Barb's creative design, we again called on her expertise to help design cabinetry in our master bedroom to increase our storage in our condo. She was able to design additional storage to look like a piece of furniture. Barb is always excited when I come in with my “design ideas†and works extremely hard to help me achieve them. I recently reached out to her again, to help design additional storage in our spare bedroom. We look forward to another enjoyable experience. I can't imagine working with anyone else.
