I have been calling and the phone only rings. I went to the store on Monday and employee said phones have been out since Saturday. You can’t tell me they can’t fix the phones. And you never know when they are open.

The Iowa City JOANN Fabric and Crafts store had previously been on the corner of Riverside Drive and Highway 1. This new location at the Sycamore Mall is a nice improvement that provides a larger, cleaner, newer sales floor. There seems to be more selection.

They're never open anymore. Staffing shortage for months, with a paper sign paying the day's hours, except that isn't even correct.

Update. Store permanently closed? There are signs on the door. They aren't even open 11-4 on a Friday.Only open 11-4.Do not buy anything with an electrical cord at this store. IT IS NOT RETURNABLE. The receipt says hassle-free returns and nothing about electronics such as irons and sewing machines. The cashier will tell you to read the return policy on the website which apparently excludes numerous items.

1-28-24Store is closed.This is happening more and more where the store does not even open.Call ahead and verify that someone answers the phone, and the store is actually open before heading over.Otherwise, just take the time to order online and have your order shipped.Or go to cedar rapids or Muscatine stores.Limited hours 11-4 Posted on their door.Hard to get help. Long lines at the checkout due to staffing issues

I placed a pick-up order yesterday that contained a singular item at 11:45am and it is STILL not fulfilled. I've tried calling the store since they opened, a total a 5 times today, with no answer. I just tried to get into the store (around 2:45pm) but it's closed, despite the fact that their hours already got cut down to 4pm. I placed the pickup order because I needed the item and I don't even have the option to cancel. Out of my item and the money. Just shut down the store

I found the products I needed at this location, looked up the hours that the store was open, and drove 47 minutes to find it was, in fact, not open and would not be open for another hour!I called the store as I watched at least 7-8 other people try to enter and they said that the Google hours were updated and that they would speak to a manager about that. The Google hours are not correct!Very, very disappointing! Will be doing my best to not shop here again.

What is happening at the Iowa City store?? Two days in a row I've checked the store hours and headed over HOURS before the listed closing time to pick up a curbside order. Both times they were closed. There was a paper sign on the door saying due to staffing issues they would have limited hours on the day before I was there. No note about current day or future dates. I get having staffing issues but out of respect to the customer they should have accurate hours on their website and on the door.I was lucky I caught a sympathetic employees eye who gave me my order. She said she had driven multiple hours to work at this store.
