This is a good place to play trivia. The host Taylor has a great voice for trivia and does his best to make it fun. The trivia starts early and gets done by 730. As deli food goes, not the best. Hy-Vee delis have really been going down hill in recent years.

I haven't had Hyvee breakfast in forever! Yesterday, I stopped in with my youngest daughter so we could eat/hangout between basketball games. I had a veggie skillet with added sausage. The breakfast was just as good as I remembered and staff was awesome!

Went to breakfast with friends. Service was terrible. We waited at least 30 minutes after ordering to receive our food and the restaurant was almost empty. Ordered hot tea. No tea bags. The tea was in the container labeled COLD brewed tea. The one server acted like I was crazy for questioning that. I ordered an omelet. It was clearly a pre-made processed omelet with a few sautéed veggies. It was dry and hard. The toast never arrived. My friends ordered oatmeal. It looked like raw oats with no liquid. There was some, but they had to stir vigorously, which then cooled it down. One friend ordered pancakes, they at least were decent.

2Stats because the seafood and butcher guys are awesome! They always give me a deal. However the rest of the store seems angry your there in the way?? I thought I knew a couple of the staff but they all just got angrier over the last couple months. I'm thinking of going to first ave Hyvee there you know that most of the staff will not be polite, that's better than being lied to.

we went in for some additional beers. I found drinks that I can't find in DSM. I can never find my regular drinks in the Boji area, I can't find them in dsm now either, so this black cherry fizz wine coolers was a very nice find for me. Staff was pleasant.

The customer service here is below average, very slow and not very helpful. To add on to this their are also a majority of people in the store with no mask, and it's quite dirty, scary during a pandemic. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

They openly sell alcohol to people well over drunk limit. If don’t believe me ask my brother. He was a frequent visitor before joining AA. It’s really sad commentary for Hy Vee.

My daughter ordered pie for her wedding from this hyvee location. She had the order placed 2 weeks in advance! 2 days before the wedding the bakery manager called and said the were not sent the right pie. This was not the truth. The bakery manager did not submit the order nor did he check the other stores in town to see if they had the right pies. Also there were no utensils offered. No charge for the pie!!! I would go elsewhere . The bakery manager came off as not caring. My daughter said when she placed the order she got a bad vibe from the bakery manager. The store manager is very capable and accommodating. However she did not get back to me as she said she would. The pie that was sent was not the pie that was ordered.

Social Distancing. The new norm. Unfortunately you still need to get sustenance during a pandemic. But OMG. Walking in the store just gives me the heebie jeebies-- I can't imagine going aisle by aisle, finding my must-haves in a very picked-over store right now. Eeek. This review is based on my experience with Hy-Vee at this location during the pandemic. I've been a longtime Hy-Vee Aisles Online Grocery Shopping customer. HOWEVER. Surprise, surprise-- because of the panic and self quarantining in the community they're super, duper busy! Deliveries and pickup are days and days out at so many of the local stores. This one is the somewhat forgotten of the couple locations in IC/Coralville and I could get next day pickup. BOOM. I drove across town and up to one of their three designated spots. An employee came out to confirm what the name on my order was. He then came out, loaded them in my trunk. Had me sign for them, show him my ID (I had ordered alcohol). Easy peasy. Everyday things are changing. But the need for groceries is not going to change. Thank you to this Hy-Vee for being there for us during this uncertain and extremely stressful time. The employees who are out there stocking the shelves, personal shopping or making deliveries-- you're making this all a bit easier for the rest of us and I am so grateful.

There are a total of 3 Hy-Vee's that are located in the Iowa City limits. This one services those living in the North and Northeastern part of it. Compared to the other two, this is average. The salad bar is the least of the three. I do not know why they even have it. It is very small with very little options. That said, everything else about this Hy-Vee is good. You'll find what you need. Plenty of parking as well.

I stopped by this Hy-Vee Food Store to pickup a handful of items. The store was not very busy. I quickly went to gather the groceries I needed. The store was clean inside and in the parking lot. When I went to checkout and pay for my groceries, the worker at the register was very quiet and seemed like by their expressions that they were having a rough day. I purchased my items and left this Hy-Vee until next time. Overall, average experience.

Stopped in for an early Saturday breakfast...and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally someone told us they would be right there so we waited some more & then left without breakfast. Sadly, they didn’t appear busy, just disinterested. We’ll skip this spot next time & just head downtown.

Just had a very disappointing experience at HyVee on North Dodge in Iowa City. We have come here for breakfast several times but have not been here for awhile. We enjoy a Sunday morning breakfast where you can sit down and have a reasonably priced meal and be greeted with a smiling face by our server - does not seem too much to ask and we have consistently found that here in the past.... This morning upon arrival, we found you now must go out to the deli to order your food and get a number for your table. They hand you a paper coffee cup where you can self serve once you get to your table. You also can wander around and try to find the silverware caddy location (which was just about empty). There were more dirty tables w dishes on them than available seats. The people next to us had to go back out to the deli and ask for some silverware - they were handed plastic take-out silverware and told "that's the best we can do for now." There is no one in the eating area from HyVee to help you find a seat, address any questions, etc. our food arrived and we wanted some jelly (which used to be on the table). The people next to us said "Oh, you have to go over there and get it." There were elderly folks trying to juggle coffee, silverware, etc. So we got up from the table and wandered to pick up some jelly. The interesting thing is ... the prices have remained the same ..... sorry to lose this breakfast spot but we won't be back! The only differences between here and McDonald's is McDonald's doesn't deliver the food to the table and McDonald's is also less expensive..... Going to Aldi's to get our groceries now.
