Dollar General in Iowa City offers everyday essentials at affordable prices from a convenient location. It is a good, close, and cheap location for picking up odds and ends, particularly serving University of Iowa students with basic household goods and food staples. The store is great and has a mind-boggling array of products, including food, snacks, health and beauty aids, cleaning supplies, and seasonal items from trusted brands. Customers can save more with the myDG program, and this location sells alcohol and tobacco. However, the store often has pallets and carts in the aisles because there are not enough people working to shelve products. Despite this, many find the employees very friendly and the prices not bad for a store with so many items.
Had to use self check out and manager was beside herself cus she had to get out of her chair to remove a security tag. Obviously understaffed and poor management.

I had a wonderful experience at the Iowa City store on 12/16. As I was leaving the store, I had left behind a bag unknowingly. The young woman cashier working this afternoon ran out to bring it to me as I was getting into my car. You are lucky to have such kind employees working for you!

They not well stocked but you can still find most of what u need, staff are not the ones who like questions so don't bother
