I have been coming here regularly for Pioneer FNM and enjoy to store and local players (Join us! Lots of us go for pizza after too). They also have bulk MTG cards that you can go through and I seem to always leave with something.
Every prerelease they decorate based on the sets theme which is a nice touch. ?

I have attempted to do business twice with this company. The first time I was told that it was an inconvenience to pull cards as they were incredibly busy and serve their community. I drove an hour and 15 minutes there, and zero customers were in store. Fast forward to today. I make two purchases on their website, and paid. I received a voicemail from the store that was VERY long, so I called the store for clarity. The person ridiculed me for not listening to the voicemail first then began providing excuses to not pull my order of 6 unique cards because he “anticipates a busy weekend”. They had my money, and refused to answer calls.
They told me that they serve their community of locals and brought up my address being out of the city they were in. Very weird, and off-putting.
Horrible business. Will spread the word amongst the community.

I went to a prerelease event on Sunday the 22nd. The owner and all the staff put in a lot of effort to make a themed event. The owner even got dressed up and participated himself, and gave out more prizes than normal at a prerelease.

Amazing shop with amazing staff. The best card shop I've ever been to. They are always willing to help new players of any game and even have multiple games you can just come in and play for free. I have never felt pressured to buy a thing or spend a cent. Plus the actual community in the shop is great and full of faces that are happy to see you. I love critical hit games. You should too

Very much enjoyed the Duskmourn Prerelease Events that Critical Hit Games put on this past weekend. Chance and the team did a cracking job and I felt very welcome. Highly recommend checking out their magic events in future.

A wonderful slice of nerdy passion. The amount of board games is unmatched around Iowa, the staff are kind and helpful, Chance (the owner) has such a huge passion for everything in the store and it’s easy to tell.
They sometimes operate an old style arcade by setting up the machines they collected, their magic and Pokemon events, while sometime loud, are always a hoot, and it is where I go to do magic when I have the time and energy.
If you enjoy card games, figurine games, or board games of any kind, Critical hit is the place you want to go.

This shop has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I have visited both this location & their previous one a few times a year since Chance and Wayne became owners. While I am not a gamer, the shop has a wonderful supply of board games and other items for gifts ideas. Staff go above & beyond as far as customer service ..... rare these days. The comfort level in this shop defies the word 'company'. CHG is a fun place people of all ages can enjoy experiencing.

Very welcoming environment. Weekly tcg events for mtg/pokemon/yugioh/etc. They always go above and beyond to create a fun environment for their mtg prerelease event. Staff is nice and considerate.

I have attended 2 pre-release events for magic the gathering. It is a great value as there is ample opportunity to win more packs. The staff is very welcoming and create an inclusive play environment

Always loved this place and the staff (I get all my dice from here), and I just recently found out about the vintage arcade game room in the back! Super fun downtown activity idea to do with friends, and it was cool learning about the history of the games as well.
