The customer service is great, and the people are very nice and responsive. However, the only reason to get this service is because it’s literally your only option. Currently paying MORE than I would for Mediacom for FAR less than the speeds I could be getting from Mediacom. I realize it’s hard competing with fiber optic technology, but when I’m paying for a 100 Mbps download speed, I would atleast like to get higher than 30 Mbps max (that is the maximum even when I am the only one at home using the internet). Just go Mediacom if you have the opportunity, it will end up saving you a lot of money and headaches.

7/2021EDIT: 5 months with no downtime, bumping up to 5 stars———————2/2021EDIT: STC got the grant to install fiber to my house, and I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now. On 100/20, been reliable so far, and cheaper than Wellman. I’ll bump it up to 5/5 in a couple months if the good service continues.————4/2016HORRIBLE internet speeds! KCTC and Wellman absolutely blow them out of the water. Completely overpriced compared to other providers (Wellman and KCTC). I work from home, and when the internet goes out randomly (happens on a weekly basis, sometimes daily), it really hurts my reputation. No fiber internet in most places. I can't wait for 5 years time when cellular options will be truly unlimited and I can finally get rid of Sharon Telephone.STOP CHARGING PEOPLE $75 FOR YOUR OWN PROBLEMS! The service calls when it's clearly a random outage again and then charging us for it?!? Really?!?!

Decent overall service especially for a rural area, occasional spottyness but generally reliable. I was told that they are expanding their fiber internet to my area come the fall so I will rate 5 stars when that happens!

I absolutely love the customer service and the small-town reliability. They have been serving us for many years and always treat us right. I only wish they could serve a larger section of the area. (Kalona/Wellman)

I previously wrote a review for 1 star, citing poor reliability due to probably poor infrastructure (was a bit harsh, more like 2 star service at the time). About a month and 1/2 ago I went into the Hills office to discuss our plan and what was available. The customer service was great plus was told what their plans were for upgrading infrastructure. It seems like they have done a lot of improvements over the summer and the reliability seems to be a LOT better. They had responded to my previous review in a very nice way *See below* (I decided to write a new review instead of editing my old one, and deleted it since it would be contradictory). I appreciate all they have done this year to improve their service!
