Leaving my review on 3/12/24. My review coincides with the same problems most of the bad reviews have with this particular USPS branch that serves Grinnell, IA. Moved to Grinnell back on 11/23 and even in the first month handful of times I'm getting previous tenant(s) mail in my mailbox & every month since. I taped my name to the inside of the mailbox within the first few days of moving in... so there's no excuse as to why I'm receiving the quantity of former tenant(s) mail (especially after a few months have gone by). In December USPS placed a tenant updated address form in everyone's mailboxes: #1 didn't look like anything official from USPS (nothing indicating the postal service labeled on it). #2 Its a residents responsibility to provide a change of address when they move, so its weird that folks who have been living here for years are receiving these supposed forms from USPS. #3 (coincides with #2) All USPS branches rely on the same computer system, including addresses. One time I had placed my mail on hold (to pick up later) for an expected duration of 1.5 weeks in late Feb to Mar; Came back home only days later to see mail still being regularly delivered (all junk ads) all the way to the end of what was supposed to be the mail hold. Went over to the branch to pick up any mail that MAY of been held (none junk ads) and they didn't have anything... even told the clerk that I was still having mail delivered when I wasn't supposed to & I had checked marked the box to pick up all my held mail after the hold date... her response: "oh carriers might still be out running late deliveries"... either they are very passive at their jobs and what I said went in one ear and out the other OR more than likely an issue of competency when its a regular occurrence. I have never had an issue with the frequency of these problems at any other USPS branch in the other 8 cities I've in... and I've only been in Grinnell less than 4.5 months.

I only use the Office Window for dropping off packages or buying stamps. Staff is always very helpful and pleasant. Nice to see small-town kindness. Lobby is adequately stocked with boxes, labels and greeting cards.

Multiple times I have had my packages delivered either to the wrong mail box, or they'll say that my package has been delivered to my front door, only to come home to find that it wasn't even delivered. I have called them on these occasions, have given them my phone number when they say that they'll give me a call, only to NEVER get a call back from them pertaining to the whereabouts of the missing packages. It gets really frustrating, especially when I'm at work when packages get delivered.

Horrible service! I live in an apartment complex and can understand a few mistakes here and there, but its beyond ridiculous. Numerous gift cards to my son for christmas lost in the mail, packages being put in wrong boxes, a package labeled "live animals" left in a metal mailbox in the middle of summer!!! If it werent for my honest neighbors, I wouldnt get half my mail!

The place is neat and clean. The customer service is great.... once you get to the window. This the holiday season and only 1 window is open. There are now 10 people waiting in line, 1 left with her boxes and 2 more showed up. Come on man get the post man some help!

The few times I've been down here were a mixed bag. Sometimes my packages were located quickly, other times the line got bogged down.

We have had nothing but problems with our mails for the past 3 YEARS. I have called and complained several times and nothing has been taken care of...the wrong mail gets put in the wrong boxes here at the apartment complex and more than that people off of the highway a few miles out has even received our mail and brought it to us. Now here recently W2s have been getting into the wrong peoples hands and a lot of my residents are mad. Not sure if the whole town is this way but the guy doing ours needs to find a new job.
