Working with Amanda on returns is worse than Nails on a chalk board.

After several experiences with the same cashier I figured it was time to leave a review. There is a certain older female with glasses and hair in a ponytail that was working register 10 in particular yesterday, 9/17. She was extremely rude to my wife. I wasn’t there for it so at first, I chalked it up as a whatever. However, once my wife described her, I then told her that I had very rude interactions with the same lady on two separate occasions myself. The second time she gave me sass and I intentionally was super nice to see if it would change anything. However, it did not matter. If you don’t like your job maybe you shouldn’t be in the customer service industry then if you’re going to be that rude to customers.

Bought a Suncast storage #1932692 yesterday online , to pick up later. Stopped by on the way home and the bar code scanner didn't work but pressed the button and they put me right through. The guy that helped me couldn't have been more helpful and the process could not have gone smoother. He should be training others on how these things are done and how to treat customers !

Went through and ordered material for a deck that we were doing at home, the dimensions of the deck are 20’10” by 13’, they were outside of regular dimensions and material had to get ordered, at no point during the interaction with the sales rep, delivery or planning were we advised that our dimension were only available in 20’ length and had to be special ordered. when it arrived it was the biggest default size(16’), back and fourth with management and issue is barely resolved still in the process of resolution. Would never recommend business or ordering anything from this place.

Menards feels stuck in the 90's with their decor, but their products are priced right for the quality. There is a lot of things I would buy from here, and have. There are also a lot of products I would avoid. They sell cheap, dollar store quality junk here along with quality stuff

Had a horrible delivery experience today with Menards (Grimes). On Sunday I paid for a range as well as a $99.00 delivery fee plus a $30.00 fee to remove the old stove as well as a $20.00 fee to hook up the new stove. The delivery window was between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, my phone was being repaired this same morning. I went to pick up my phone at 9:15, and it was not ready (as promised). When I finally received my phone at 10:10, I saw that Menards had left a notification that the delivery would be made between 9:47 and 10:17 AM. I immediately called and left a message explaining my situation and that I would be home within 15 minutes. 3 minutes before I arrived home (10:25), a representative from Menards called to tell me that I had missed the delivery and would have to pay another $99.00 delivery fee. I had already spent $772.72 on the transaction and with no other way of receiving what I had paid for, I paid an additional $99.00 delivery fee. The range was delivered at 11:20, taking about 10 minutes. Menards offered absolutely no grace under circumstances that were out of my control. I would have understood paying a small inconvenience fee, but paying the delivery charge twice because I missed the delivery window by 8 minutes due to circumstances out of my control? That is no way to treat a loyal customer. Never again.

Highly disappointed. Was excited last season that Menards was selling propane. Just went and refilled now, they charge a 5.00 service fee now for propane fill. So that 3.99 price now is average, but after adding that service fee on, more expensive than ACE or Tractor Supply. And apparently this is displayed on their propane price (3.99 LARGE, but Service Charge amount small).

This store is fairly new and it shows. Let’s just start with the delivery department. It’s the incompetence galore. Staff there does not want to work, could care less about helping customers and just want to see them gone. I am a pro and just canceled a $6000 order because of delivery departments incompetence. I hope that the management knows how much money they’re losing because they have unfriendly and incompetent staff at the delivery department.

Went to Menards after hitting Lowes for an estimate on materials for a new deck. Not sure who the old guy was who served us, but he was condescending and rude. If I'm about to drop $4000 on decking materials at your store, you can at least be helpful. After enduring him for about 3 minutes, I'd had enough. Heading back to Lowes, now. At least they were helpful and friendly.

Buyer beware look at your pet food expiration dates. Almost bought a bag that was expired in July 23 and then noticed a bunch of bags turned over with expired dates. And this was on many different brands. Stocker was just putting new on top of old and I brought to his attention his response was "I don't care I'm just told to put it on the shelf". Do better menards!

I was having new windows put into my home by Haggerty Windows & Siding, and it was their sales person's recommendation that I go to Menards to purchase a new patio door. They have an account with Menards, so they could pick the door up and store it for me until my windows came in from their supplier. So I ended up ordering a Menard's store brand door manufactured by Mastercraft out of Wisconsin. The door was installed by Haggerty Windows & Siding in February of 2023. In September we noticed that the thermo-pane glass in both doors was fogging. I contacted Menard's sales department, and two weeks later I still had no response as to how they were going to fix the door. I finally contacted Mastercraft directly myself. They told me they would warrant the glass; BUT they would not cover any labor involved with tearing out the old glass, installing the new glass, or any costs associated with hauling away the old glass. That seemed like a pretty lousy warranty for a door that had not been in use for more than a few months, but I considered it just another hard lesson learned. So working with Mastercraft myself, they did ship me replacement glass within a couple of weeks. I will note that Mastercraft's customer service has been excellent. And Haggerty, without it being their responsibility, has agreed to help me with installing the new glass. So, without any help from Grimes Menards, Mastercraft Mfg. and Haggerty Windows & Siding have helped me fix the quality issue with this patio door.
The lesson here is: Quality may be an issue if you purchase their store brand windows and doors at Menards. You need to be prepared to take responsibility for handling any warranty related issues with their products. My experience has been that you are pretty much on your own, with very little constructive support from them.
Added note: If Menards really wants to offer some customer service on removal and replacement of the fogged thermo-pane glass in their patio door, here is the order number and part number. They could always call me and offer their assistance.
