Clean store with a Smokey Row coffee shop located in it. The staff are very friendly. I will be back!

Closed for Christmas, but I could still get gas. Thank you!

I get it, I now need to check out my own purchases and bag my own groceries. But to go to Fast and Fresh, and have to restock the coffee cups, restock the sugar packets, restock the lids, and add more coffee beans and I'm just a customer and have never worked for Hy-Vee, is a little much. It wasn't busy and it wasn't after a rush. This isn't the first time either. I have had to restock items myself on 3 different occasions. I try to ask staff and they are always busy (they say) or not around. It is the poorest managed store in the area. I have stopped going here and go to one of the 3 other ones a mile or two away that seems to keep up on simple tasks.

I came to the gas station to simply use the rest of the balance on a gift card for gas. The cashier was an older man and appeared to be struggling a bit. I had to repeat more than 3 times that I was using the gift card, the amount on the card, and the pump number. The cashier didn’t confirm whether or not it went through after scanning the gift card in the app so I just went to pump but it did not work. The second time I came into the gas station, the cashier claimed the transaction didn’t go through. He scanned the card on the app again, the app showed the transaction went through, and then he attempted to give me the receipt even though I said more than once I didn’t want the receipt. I went outside to pump but it was not working. The third time I came into the gas station, I attempted to get assistance from the other cashier but he kept redirecting me back to the cashier I was trying to avoid. Both cashiers made claims that they needed to scan my card again on the app, but I informed them both that the app was showing the transaction went through and that their issues were not my problem. Both cashiers worked on the register then claimed the pump would work. It did not. I came into the gas station a fourth time to inform them the pump still wasn’t working. To this point of course both cashiers were treating me with disrespect, interrupting me and speaking over me, acting as if I was trying to be confrontational when something so simple should run smoothly. Both cashiers worked on the register for a few more moments then claimed the pump should work for me. I asked “Are you sure?” and the second cashier confirmed then said a sly comment as I walked out of the door. I have made the decision to stop shopping at all Hyvee stores (this is why I was using the remaining balance on my gift card in the first place.) I was shown that choosing to no longer support Hyvee is a great idea.

Nice coffee shop attached to a Hy-Vee gas station with a wide variety of food and beverage options. I stopped here on either bookend of a weekend trip. First grabbing a pistachio latte (a March special) it basically tasted like pistachio pudding, lost most of the espresso element. On my 2nd stop I grabbed a butterfinger latte, to me it was all mocha no butterscotch which was disappointing. I also grabbed one of the pre-wrapped espresso brownies. The brownie itself tasted like a cosmic brownie, the frosting which was supposed to be espresso flavored tasted overly sweet and like stale powdered sugar, no espresso flavor came through at all. Additionally service was super slow on my second visit, with 2 workers and only 2 people in front of me I waited 10 minutes for my drink.

Smokey Row is always a slay. My got to order is a grilled cheese with a lavender lemonade but I'm pretty sure the lemonade is seasonal. Occasionally service is slower but the good vibes make up for it.

I have driven through or stopped in at every Smokey Row in the DSM metro and am very excited now to have one near my home. The strawberry smoothie was on point and service very friendly. I also ordered an americano to save for later and it was so smooth even sitting for nearly an hour (poured over ice once cooled)

This location has a Smokey Row with a drive thru! Great staff, great coffee, and an incredible dine in space with plenty of booths, comfy arm chairs, and tables! Great spot for a meeting or a Bible study or one on one discipleship as well.

Just opened and it's already hopping. It's a cute place for coffee and a bite to eat. The atmosphere is a casual and good for a day date! But also a good place to get some light reading done too if you like to study in a cafe atmosphere. As for the food and coffee it's like the other Smokey Rows out there since it is a franchise. I got the Iced Mocha Latte and a hot Chai Latte. The Mocha latte is not overly sweet even with the added whipped cream. Would highly recommend to stir it beforehand because the mocha is at the bottom. The Chai latte is nice and well spiced! But again stir it as the flavor and spices settle to the bottom. Finally the bagel sandwiches we got. Even though the bagels aren't made fresh there the flavors are still good. The bagels has the nice chew to it, but still soft. The Row Bagel has turkey, bacon bits, lettuce, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese. The Hippie Chic has tender pieces of chicken, i don't believe it's actually grilled there and may be prepackaged/thawed/heated chicken but it's still good. The guac is not make fresh and is like other packaged guac. So homemade or store made is not their focus. It's more of a quick bite to eat and some good coffee/teas. Food aside, the atmosphere is good, the fact that they have a cute doggie wall for their drive thru dogs is cute. But wish they had a patio sections for people and the pups to enjoy. Cookie loves her pup cup (whipped cream cup) that they gave her. So she would give 5 stars lol. Overall will go here for a quick bite and coffee, but not for something if I want store made fresh bakery or sandwiches.
