Hibachi used to be good. They need to make it self serve like the Ankeny store. You have to beg them to give you sauce noodles and vegetables .

The bakery at the NE Gateway Drive in Grimes made my 3 year old grandson an AMAZING birthday cake. We wanted the Paw Patrol theme and she adapted it to a round shaped cake. She was was very creative in designing it. Very happy with the cake and highly recommend visiting their bakery.

There isnt one HyVee that I go to where prices dont ring up as noted on the shelves or websites. I have to proof my receipt each time then waste time of your store clerks and customer service clerks to make right. This is frustrating. This never happens at Fareway or Publix. HyVee needs to get their act together if they really want to be a "big boy".

I give them 3 stars due to all the bath and body stuff they don't need to sell along with clothes and shoes‼‼ Just do the food, flowers and pharmacy‼ And then do those 3 things well ‼ Also please offer one frozen gluten free frozen pie.

I ordered a quarter sheet birthday cake online. Red velvet & cream cheese icing for my wife’s birthday. She said it was the most delicious cake she’s ever had. I must agree it was perfect! Thanks Hy-Vee!

I shopped in Grimes this afternoon and I feel their young adult check out staff could use more Training! The person at the register rarely ever gives you a discount for bringing your own reusable shopping bags $0.05 discount/ bag, with out asking and them they don’t all give it to you! And the person sacking the groceries sometimes if you don’t have enough reusable bags put 1-2 items in each plastic bags ! What a waste!!! Please spend the time to train Your Team Properly!! Hy Vee your grocery prices are high enough to do better for Your Customers…

DO NOT order through aisles online here. An option on the app is making sure you are contacted about substitutions and out of stock items. They WILL NOT do this! They will complete your order with several items missing without ever contacting you. I have ordered through aisles online here several times, and every single time, my order is incomplete and I end up having to go inside to buy the items they did not contact me about. I have given them several surveys and calls about this and nothing has changed. It's better to just go inside yourself because they will not complete your order correctly.

I drove nearly 1 hour to go to this Hy-Vee. Good selection and prices; however, I was overcharged by $10-$11 for ASPARAGUS! As soon as I realized it (after I got home and was putting food away), I sent them a message with photos showing I was overcharged. Approximately 2 days later I received a response where they said they would refund me the $10 and how did I want my refund. I replied and explained that I lived an hour away and wasn't sure when I would be back in their store and asked the best way for them to refund me. I never heard back. I messaged them again and got no response and it's been over a month and they have completely ignored me and kept my money. I spent well over $200 during that trip and apparently they don't care that they've already lost a new customer.

Food court area, employees rude unhelpful. Employees out and floor have a don't know, don't care attitude. And forget recycling your cans here, the machines are either full or breakdown while in use. Again, rude, unhelpful employees here. Called the store, asked to speak with manager. Placed on hold, call not answered. So this store was great when it opened, but we avoid it now. We drive over to Aldi or Fareway. This store gives Hyvee a bad name. Shop elsewhere.

I ordered X2 7” cakes. These are for my 4&5 year olds birthdays’. I gave them a vague description of a llama with a pink bow and a cupcake seen behind the counter. They look beautiful. Update with taste later!

I love HyVee! Yes, their prices are high, but they have items that no other stores carry. I have always found the employees to be friendly and helpful. Sometimes they surprise this old gal with a random hello, but maybe they enjoy seeing my deer-in-the-headlights reaction. HyVee along with Aldi has the best selection of keto and low-carb foods in town. My husband loves their Chinese food. He says it's better than the local restaurants. I really like the Wahlburgers. The burgers are much better than Culver's and on par with BeeBops (which is being built here!) So, yes, civilization has come to Grimes, and we love it.
