Scheduled a horse ride twice! First time we arrived and waited (two hour drive one way), no one around. Tried calling, no answer. Someone else showed up and said they had tried to cancel the night before, but I didn't have a voicemail. Tried scheduling again and now can't get anyone to answer to confirm scheduled appointment. Not doing this again.BEWARE

Charlie was a character I’m glad my first time was on a big sassy guy like him. Tex was a character too. Tex defiantly a mellow fellow for sure I would say he’s great for first timers so ask for him! Tex also enjoyed a lot of little snack breaks. I would say for someone nervous riding don’t get Charlie he’s a little sassy and definitely likes to go at his own pace you can’t be scared to manhandle the horses but do it respectful. Definitely would recommend for someone who’s been on a horse prier just because it seems though if your new to riding the horses will do as they please if your scared to correct them. But at the end of the day will be going back some time soon!

Wonderful experience for my whole family, very friendly and thoughtful folks. Trail ride was between 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Definately worth doing again. Beautiful scenery in the park, lucky to have such amazing access for riding. Would love to be able to do more activities, maybe in the future? Still, a great place to try riding if you've never done it, and for those that has been a minute since their last ride lol.

Fantastic experience and well worth the drive. A trail ride with great horses, great price, and beautiful landscape. More than just a flat land trail ride. Jolene I hope I spelled it right but she was a wonderful guide. Thank you for a great ride.

Our guide was very friendly and gave simple instructions. We weren't able to use the usual trail due to a frozen creek, so after giving the horses/mules a rest, we followed the trail back. The ride was about 90 minutes, in two parts, with another 30 or so getting everyone saddled up. The horses like to go single file, don't plan on riding side by side. Children need to be able to follow directions well in order to enjoy their time.

I took a trail ride with the Westerkamp crew. It was a very relaxing and soothing ride. I hadn’t been on a horse’s back for many years. It brought back many memories for me. My granddaughter Libby enjoyed it too. This is a wonderful family business! Thanks Jolene and Emily for a very enjoyable ride.

Today, 8-27-22, we drove from Kirksville, Mo for our 4th annual ride at Westercamp Rent A Horse. Fantastic! The trail ride this time was a little different from years prior, more hills and it was wonderful! I highly recommend this family owned business. Today our guide Winter was amazing! Sweet, sweet woman with great conversation. Horses are beautiful and well taken care of and loved. Easy to ride and completely enjoyable. Thank you Westercamp family! Amazing trail guide, beautiful trails, gorgeous horses for a 2.5 hour ride. Highly recommend the Westercamp rides. There isn't anyone else like them around here. Thank you Jolene for being such a confident, experienced guide :)
