“It's been a long time since I've been to the Amish stores in Iowa. Carter's is a nice discount/surplus style store. The people running the store are very polite and friendly. There is handicap accessible ramp at the entrance as well as regular steps. Remember to ring the bell at the register if there is no one there. The workers will keep working on whatever they are doing if you dont. I found several items at super low prices. It is worth the drive to visit these stores.”

“I wish I could remember the name of the meat dept clerk who helped fulfill my order on Saturday Apr 2! I had made a list of approx $400 worth of meat based on online prices that I gave to him. He went above and beyond to make sure my order contained "no surprises"; checked what was available, told me some prices would be lower due to online service fees that would not apply, and bent over backwards to offer me options. We are SOOO pleased with what we got! I compared prices from several meat lockers in the area, and Fareway won hands down for the most reasonable prices and best customer service. We have never placed such a large order from Fareway, but have always trusted the quality of meat we get there! Thank you Fareway!”

“New to the area and have discovered the Hy-vee app where I attempted placing a custom cake order. Not realizing that the Oelwein location doesn’t have a bakery. Matt reached out to me after I tried getting help with ordering, broke the news to me of no bakery, pointed me in the closest direction to order AND is making sure the cake is picked up and ready for me to purchase locally. So far everyone (cashier today, Matt and the lady on the line from the other location have went above and beyond. Love it! Thank you for a great experience!”

“Great addition to the grocery scene in town. There are some things available that you can't get at the other grocery store in town. They are aggressive on pricing. They make it feel a bit more upscale than it really is. People have been trained well and consistently. Clean physical plant. The parking lot needs some work.”

“Tiny gas station..... And... Amazing!, stopped here on our way to a job site more for a leg stretch and a quick gatorade, not expecting much.. Boy were we wrong. They had food... Everything from sandwhiches, calzones, mozzarella sticks to a full on pork tenderloin! Everytime we drove past this place we had to stop for some food!”

“a lot of the reviews on here are old and negative so I would like to share my experience. i have never had any trouble with this place at all, my prescriptions took no time at all to be filled or refilled and i really appreciate how easy it is to refill a prescription over the phone, it's automated and you don't have to talk to staff unless further assistance is needed. as an introvert, autistic person, and someone with severe phone anxiety i think it's a great method.”

“Overall good experience. Small wait at the register, no big deal. Was looking for Chili Beans, but they were out. Prices are good. I'm usually always able to find what I need. Nice and friendly staff”
