We came across this small winery on our way to Omaha. We had a fantastic experience! The owner is friendly and gracious and the wines are delicious! Our favorites were Misty Thistle and Horse Trader. This Iowa winery is a true gem and worth a visit!

We pulled off of I80 when seeing the signs for a Danish winery. First, a beautiful drive, the American countryside. Fiance and I had a nice time here. We told Loren just give us 5 sweet tasters. He knows his wines, excellent choices. Bought 2 bottles and a T shirt! Moreover, had a nice visit with Loren. Very nice guy. Probably could of sat and talked for hours. Thank you Loren! ?

We came to Elk Horn during our cross-country roadtrip upon learning they had a windmill transported from Denmark (my grandparents emigrated from Denmark, thought it would be appropriate to see where Danish-Americans settled) and stumbled across this winery. My husband and I are not wine drinkers in the slightest, but decided to give it a shot. The owner was very nice and informative! We talked his ear off, swapping military and school stories (my husband being British Military and me being a grad student as the owner was working towards his PhD). We ended up taking home three bottles of wine, a surprise to us because we thought we wouldn't enjoy the wine. The blueberry wine was great, the peach was very sweet, and the strawberry blush was very refreshing. We would definitely go back!

Nice place in the middle of nowhere. Don't let the drive scare you off, all the wines we sampled were very good. That never happens to me as I am not a true wine fan. Love the old barn store front and would have loved to get more history there. The owner's son helped us and enjoyed the conversation and his insights on the wines. I had read other reviews to the contrary, but we found him engaging and helpful. We visit a lot of wineries as my wife loves wine. Give this place a try, you won't be sorry.

Good friends of ours traveled from Florence, Ky to California and back on their motorcycle and on the way back they stopped by your place and picked up this bottle of wine and surprised me with it. Delicious! I hope some day we can come visit from Ross, OH and return the favor.
