Amazing food! Don't let the exterior of the building scare you off. The interior is very nice and the food is spectacular. Great beer list too.

I found the ladies restroom a little dank and smelly. It was not easily accessible with my walker at all! That was my only complaint. The food was excellent if a little spicier than I expected. The staff was great.

Just stopped for a night-cap good service, neat atmosphere a bit dirty & very nasty women's bathroom.

Wow! My family had such a wonderful time at Schera's as we ate some delicious food. We sat out on their scenic riverside deck and had a dinner to celebrate the incoming marriage of me and my now-husband. The restaurant went above and beyond to make our dinner a special occasion and even made sure to be extra cautious due to my husband's severe peanut allergy. The food was absolutely delicious, the view stunning, and the memory of the dinner is one my entire family will always cherish. This restaurant is an absolute gem.Dietary restrictions: The restaurant was incredibly respectful about my husband's nut, fish, and potato allergy. We felt comfortable eating their food!

We were very lucky and honored to have our pre-wedding dinner at Schera's for our immediate family. On their patio with outdoor seating, they helped us to set up the table with some decorations we had brought. During our family-style meal, the waiter explained what each of the dishes were, their main ingredients, and their cultural significance. Each of the dishes were amazing, with my favorite being the shakshuka. Towards the end of the meal, the chef came outside to explain the story behind the dessert that he had prepared for us. The chef, like us, is part of a multicultural family, and prepared a traditional Algerian dish which symbolizes the merging of two families. All in all, it was a truly wonderful meal with amazing hospitality and with some great views. Highly recommend!Dietary restrictions: They were great with my allergies

We were up for trying something new, so headed to Elkader and Schera . It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio and enjoy some beautiful fall scenery. They had an excellent beer selection and every item we ordered was delicious. The appetizer sampler was a great start. Be sure to get harissa to enjoy with it. We also had the merguez wrap and couscous royale… both tasty. We will be back!

Food was superb. We'll be coming back again. The sampler platter was great, loved the sausage wrap, had a taste of the camel burger. The last time we were here we had the shawarma and they were good as well. Can't go wrong with their menu.

Hadn't tried Algerian food before so we checked this place out during our stay -- delish! Good food, nice craft beer selection, friendly staff, and outdoor seating on the river.
