My previous vet missed early signs of a serious disease in my senior dog. The people at Colonial immediately recognized the signs and started tests. They saved my boy's life and continue to be kind and amazing at every follow up visit. It's the only vet he's ever been happy to arrive to and I couldn't recommend them more highly.

i love this place. i finally decided to switch after some bad luck with a previous vet. i feel confident with them. they are thorough, and i never leave without my questions answered. i finally decided to pick trust over price. i knocked off a star because they are very pricey compared to some vets. but i would definitely trust them to save my pets' lives. and they have. one of my girls was starving herself back in december, and dr slagel figured her out and saved her life. with my previous vet, i always felt the need to get a 2nd opinion. colonial terrace was that 2nd opinion, and now i have switched for good.

Very caring staff. Gave me updates through out the day on my kitty cat with an UTI. They even ordered the right food for my cat. The vets are awesome. Would highly recommend.

New rating 8/27/24. Provider refused to modify Care Credit payment terms for amt over $1000. Have been loyal customer for a long time but regrettably it is time for a change.

Very best veterinarian practice in Dubuque! The team has been amazing to me and my babies I have been for 10 years. Compassionate, caring and a they all do a great job explaining everything to you and creating treatment plan that fits best for you and your fur baby.

I just wanted to mention how much I appreciate Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital and their staff! I have been bringing my pets to them for years for everything from check ups to emergencies and the difficult task of helping an elderly or ailing fur baby on to the next life. Throughout it all we've been treated with honest compassion and care. I never did thank you all for the beautiful card I received after my kitty Maya passed away earlier this year!❤️❤️❤️

The staff at Colonial Terrace are open to hearing our concerns regarding our reason for having Stella seen. The doctors treat Stella like one of their own family members and explain, in easy to understand terminology, what Stella is dealing with and their recommendations for treatment. They understand that my husband is, at times, overly anxious about any issues she has and are willing to take the time to call me and repeat the information shared at the visit with me so my husband and I can make an informed decision about any treatment needs. I especially appreciate that the doctors will frame treatment options in terms of "if Stella were my pet, I would..." as this is helpful in determining the best course of action. We are grateful for the care Stella receives from Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital.

The staff at Colonial Terrace are kind and gentle and genuinely care about the health and well-being of our pets. Our pets have always been treated with respect and tenderness. We are happy to see whichever DVM is available, because each is wonderful!
