Dr Hoerner was very knowledgeable, and compassionate to me and to my dog. Her treatment of his symptoms paid off. He is doing much better, now!

Dr Connie was great! I have never been to a vet that taught me so much about Sissy's health. She was so thorough and caring. Will definitely be back. As far as the front desk help. There is definitely room for improvement. Not the friendliest.

Dr. Adams and all of the staff at Adam's Pet Hospital were very helpful with taking care of our dog today. We were able to have Dr. Adam's see our dog in between surgeries this morning and are very grateful for the kind care and the explanations provided for our dog's treatment.

They racial profile and won’t help if your a different race, they even called the police on me when my cat needed attention and they refused service for nothing, never ever will recommend this place. All I was doing was looking for help for my cat that had been attacked. I don’t even want to give them a star

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Took my dog there for boarding when I was on vacation and when I picked her up she couldn’t use one of her back legs. She was fine when I dropped her off and of course the staff didn’t know anything about what happened to her. They also didn’t seem to care when I talked to them about the situation. I Took my dog to a different vet and that back leg is paralyzed now. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE.

I discontinued our dog's care at Adams in 2020 after several unfortunate situations. I'm not one to write reviews so it's taken me awhile to share this. 1. They prescribed our dog antibiotics for a skin issue he was having. They told me in our office visit, give 2 pills 2x per day. I get home and the bottle label says 4 pills twice per day. I call to confirm and they told me they printed the label wrong, it should be 2 pills 2x p day. Thankfully I was paying attention. 2. We had been taking our dog to Adams for a few years when in 2016 he developed a fatty benign mass on his hind end. Did not seem to bother him at all, however Adams said we should have the mass removed - they insisted it would grow and cause issues, so we took their medical advice and agreed to surgery. They did the surgery in their office, and sent our dog home with no antibiotics which I thought was odd, but I didn't question it. He ended up getting MRSA (antibiotic resistant infection) and we dealt with an open wound that would not heal on his hind end for almost 5 months (thousands of dollars, endless emergency vet visits, more surgeries, medications, wound flushing, etc.) Coincidentally, we did this surgery just before moving to Madison, WI. and thankfully we had UW Vet care nearby to help us through this terrible time. Otherwise I'm convinced he would have become septic. 3. 2018 We moved back to Dubuque, and decided reluctantly to continue care with Adams. I noticed an abnormal bump on my dogs wrist. He was showing no signs of pain, so I figured it would be nothing but decided to take him in. Dr. Kristi Schreiber (who is no longer with Adams because she was reported for over prescribing tramadol to dogs that didn't exist for over 2 years - it was found she was actually taking the meds herself) did x-rays and told me that he had bone CANCER. She sent me on my way with nothing but a prescription for pain medication and told me we'd need to just make him comfortable until he died. After mentally processing this devastating news for over a week, I decided to ask her to send the x-rays off to a bone specialist at UW Vet for another opinion. Sure enough, they responded saying he did not have cancer, just over calcification of his bone near his wrist. I cant say ALL the care we received at Adams was neglectful and I want to assume the vets that practice there have our animals best interest at heart. There were many moments I felt like they cared so much for our dog and were very compassionate. But they massively dropped the ball for us multiple times, and it hurts me to have to share this.
