Went in to see if there was an address change active for my address. The counter person walked behind the area where she worked to check on this. She said she spoke with our mail carrier and he said no. Odd, at the time I was there, the mail carrier was delivering mail on our route. We also asked to her to remove any hold at our previous address. Again, she checked nothing on a computer but just told us the hold was removed. Tonight I am calling the address forwarding area at a toll free post office number to resolve this.

Why doesn't anybody EVER answer the phone at this facility?? I always have to make a trip there to get anything accomplished including finding out why my mail delivery from vacation stops is never resumed.

Clearly the carriers can't read a simple address. My mail keeps going to the wrong place that has the same address as a house on the same and i live in an apartment and have a P.o.box with them too. Clearly noone can read an address from the east side of the same street and clearly can't read an apartment number. Let alone know that I have an po.box with them.

I had an amazing experience with this office! I needed to get into my mailbox but I had lost my key.
After verifying my info, they called all three drivers who split my route to make sure they could contact the correct person and let them know to transfer my packages to a Luxer machine.
They really went above and beyond to make sure I could get my mail, and for that I’m super grateful. 5 stars!

Nov. 18, 2023 a.m.Southside Des Moines, Ia Post OfficeNever have I seen such disrespect from a postal worker as today.The short black female postal worker working the front desk was literally making fun of customers and making racial slurs to their face, while her ghetto coworker behind her was laughing the whole time. If this had been the other way around, she would have come across that desk after them.Granted some people have choppy English or very little English. And I am sure it can get frustrating, but that is no reason for this behavior., and inna governemt facility. She did it to an Asian woman, then shortly after that to a Latino woman. I guess only "Black Lives Matter" in her case. Shame on the both of themI hope a supervisor sees this comment and some sort of action is taken...but I doubt it.

Second time this is happening I live close by the post office and again having issues!!! I have gotten 2 new resident papers!!!! Why do they keep doing this I have important mail coming in and this is just straight annoying! I’m tired of having to do this repeatedly. And they don’t answer their phones which is going to make me madder.
