My sister Linda Huss is at this fantastic care center in Des Moines, IA. She had a visit from the CEO today while I was visiting. What a great guy. The staff hear are fantastic according to my sister. I can attest to this . The staff has been in several times to check on her. You definitely get the feeling that they care. My sister feels very lucky to be hear getting good care.

A family member of mine recently spent nearly a month at Select Specialty in Des Moines, and we could not be more thankful for our experience. The staff was phenomenal, so supportive, and helped my family meet our recovery goals. Truly all of the staff was wonderful; Sophia, Katie, Gage, Tiffani, Heidi, Laura to name only a few that left a great and lasting impact on our family. We are very grateful to have chosen Select Specialty in Des Moines.

I was hired as a cna at Select Specialty. In both of my interviews I was very open and upfront about my availability. It wasn't an issue until I started orientation. All of a sudden they wouldn't work with my schedule and the HR representative was very cold and unprofessional towards me. I don't know how they treat their patients. I refused to return to work after the disrespect. But I can tell you first hand they don't care about their employees, if they did, they wouldn't have such a high turn over rate. Don't take my word for it. Try it out yourself, I can't promise any difference in how they'll treat you. It's sad. More worried about profit than they are compassion. And nobody in the company seems to care. Shocker.

My stay here was very pleasant. All of the staff is very knowledgeable and seem to take a personal approach to their parents.

You never want to go to the hospital but if you have to this is the place you want to go. You are treated with courtesy and respect.

Everyone’s been nice and supporting during my recovery period. I so appreciated the time spent explaining the what’s going on, as well as, small chit chat while being cared for. It’s a place I would return to but, hope I won’t need to. Thank you ?

My father who has since passed said they did not help him at all. They force feed him shoving food in his mouth and laughing at him. We never got a video call from them even when it was set up to do. My father said they never got him out of bed and were waiting for him to die. Shame on this place.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! They treated my husband with respect and compassion. They helped him take the steps needed to prepare him for his transfer to an inpatient rehab hospital. The CEO stopped by frequently to see how things were going and asked if there's anything he could help with. The Case Manager went above and beyond to facilitate an easy transition and provide helpful information. Can't say enough positive about Select Specialty Hospital.

I want to thank the Select staff for their emotional and physical support while my mom's wound was treated. We were always shown kindness and respect. Thanks also to Mr. Nordeng for his visits and funny stories...such a great guy! Great hospital! Great staff!

My husband had a near drowning accident and after several weeks was transferred to Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines. Within a week they had him successfully off the ventilator and another week the trach was out. We cannot begin to thank the staff at Select Specialty Hospital for the care, compassion and expertise they showed to my husband as well as our family while he was there. We would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone in need!!Thank you all!! Jeff is now home and doing outpatient therapy!!❤

My dad has spent over two months in the hospital battling Covid. After 6 weeks in the ICU, he was transferred to Select Specialty Hospital in DSM. I was very nervous about his transfer but the staff was attentive and answered all of my questions and concerns. Our case manager, Katie, was absolutely amazing. I don’t know if we would have gotten through this very difficult time without her. My dad was given less than 5% chance of survival and is now on the final stage of his recovery at a rehabilitation facility. The staff was able to successfully wean him off the ventilator, the tracheotomy, and made great strides in physical/occupational therapy. We will be forever grateful for the care we received at this hospital. Thank you isn’t enough.

The staff were wonderful. My husband received great care, and communication was good between his care team, and family. Definitely was a great stepping stone towards rehabilitation after his stroke.
