Dead Malls are still odd places to land even if there is a record store inside. Ratt's is just around the corner from the food court entrance. The store has a healthy footprint. Inside there's a healthy selection of vinyl, used t-shirts and collectibles. Mostly rock, metal and country; not a lot of punk or indie in the mix. They did have an interesting selection of local music.

The manger is helpful got lot things to see His got lots records but not what where look for His got lot vintage stuff stshirts and poster and any thing u can find to hang on the wall Lot nice glass wear Every decorate music not to my taste perfer other kind music but what do except its a record store I think the ower daughter was there she didnt say much which i was suprised from the reviews from this place she was quiet I wished he would had more what we Where look for thank for the help

Ratt is a great guy I could spend hours with this guy. He's passionate about his store if you have a few free hours stop by you will not be disappointed. Unfortunately my wife and I were short on time so I only had 30 wonderful minutes in his store. We will be in des moines in 4 weeks I definitely will return there. And definitely his prices are in line for today's vintage vinyl albums. The probably 100 I looked at were priced right in my opinion. I am of course a vinyl snob forsure. Love to 80s 70s 60s and believe it or not a sealed fleetwood mac rumors album. He's has tons of seals old vinyl swing by and be prepared to see stuff you have never seen before.

Great for punk and metal. Had a bunch of older vinyls. Hip hop selection was lacking though. Was hoping to maybe find something local to check out since I'm from Arizona, but wasn't much to choose from.

Beautiful store, but owners daughter is absolutely horrible, she was rude the whole time, giving us dirty looks and then forced us to leave, for picking up a record and looking at it

Daughter of the owner was absolutely so rude. She came in the store and was even talking to her coworkers in a rude tone once he asked her a question. She came up to me and a friend taking pictures, not bothering or damaging anything and told us all about how her daddy owns the store and we were going to break things, though we were being cautious of everything we touched. The guy worker is absolutely amazing and so is their clothes but watch out for the daughter ?. Would not recommend interacting with her.

it was amazing! Worker there saw my interest in things and talked to me about them, he seemed interested in my interest and that made me happy. Alot of cool things, im definitely going again. I bought a slipknot record, slipknot patch, a horror movie, and he gave me a slipknot sticker free! There was soooo much more i wanted and would get if i could afford :)

Cool store, talked to the owner who ended up knowing my son's band. Even showed me the drum head Joey signed for him. Nice vintage (like me?) items. Will definitely be back.

It's a used Record shop. I'm sure if you are looking for something old it might be there or maybe you want to see if you can find a copy of something newer but not at a new price, it's a good place to look. Just not for me... I prefer new vinyl. Never know what condition something used will be in.

This is easily the best record store in Iowa. With so many accessories, poster gallery, local blown glass, all sorts of vintage clothing. The staff is knowledgeable and so friendly! It's a very pleasant atmosphere, the vibe is amazing. So many cool things in this store
