This league offers an opinion for tball through high school for players interested in playing the game but don't want to (or cant afford) travel and play tournaments. Great option for a regular schedule however since the coaches are volunteer parents, the skills of the game are not drilled in. There are several fields with plenty of shade and a concessions stand for spectators. Registration opens around the new year for spring ball and there is a summer ("second session") option for kids interested in more game time but no practice.

Poor upkeep, minimal care for young players!First off this is my sons first year playing in Des Moines. The first three games of the year were either rained out or snowed out. We never were able to play those three games again. They were not rescheduled. The shirts the kids received were very poorly made. All the kids numbers on the back were falling off after the first game. My son plays coach pitch on the 6u teams. We were stuck on a field that looked like a storm took it out a few years ago and it was never fixed. The dugout was falling apart. There were broken pieces of lumber with nails coming out of them. Every game we were there they never had a board member even come and ask what we thought or how the season was going. Your jersey complaints fell on deaf ears. You give 140 bucks for your kids to play and they don’t even get to play the games you pay for. Needless to say we will not go back there. I want my kids to enjoy where they play. I also want them to play the amount of games that were intended to be played no mater how old they are. They learn from playing. Good luck if you decide to register your kids here.

Great Board members and volunteers, Great coaches and umpires, whose focus is on developing kids baseball skills and understanding of the game. Most of all, great kids that have an absolute blast playing baseball at Raccoon Valley!!
