1901 Hackley Ave, Des Moines“Very clean room. Staff was super friendly and explained everything in great detail. Super price. I will return.
Rooms: There was several options to choose from for the rooms and that's not just including the bed size or number of beds but also the location of where the room would be so that you can either see the parking lot or the street.
Safety: There are several cameras on site and they are right by the front desk so they can be monitored very easily. The hallways are very well lit as well as the parking lot. The staff keep a close eye on people coming and going into the hotel.
Walkability: Lots of things close to the hotel such as Hy-Vee, Walgreens, and many restaurants that are very close to walk to in nice warm weather”
“Great hotel, kind staff, amazing bar...the rooms were big and clean... welcome treats on all floors,
But walls are really thin!!!
Enjoy your stay!!!
Rooms: Netflix...Large and comfy!!!”
“The front desk people were outstanding!!!
Rooms: Spacious. Quiet.
Safety: Area seemed safe & secure.
Walkability: Sidewalks were clean & wide enough.”
“The room was beautiful! We had a huge bed and a corner sofa, which was perfect. Also, the shower was AMAZING.
I also want to highlight the front desk staff. They were wonderful and very helpful. Every question i had was answered quickly, and when I wad accidentally double charged, the issue was fixed with 1 phone call.
Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“This was a good little motel. Greeted with a friendly face at check in was most unexpected. There is road noise at the location, but the rooms are clean, nicely updated, and secure. We will most likely stay here again.”
“When I first arrived here the lobby smelled and I was really thinking twice about it but once I got to my room opened the windows and turned on the ceiling fan and cleaned the room real good and checked the mattress for bed bugs which there was none it is really a good place to stay just mind your own business and pay your rent and you will be good prices for everything is really a good deal it’s a cozy little place to stay I would recommend this place it just needs a little TLC”

Rooms: Very clean and nicely appointed.
Nearby activities: I made this weekend trip to go to the Blank Park Zoo
Food and drinks: I enjoyed a meal at Bennigans, which is directly across from this location”
“Travel to this particular location is challenging. The county planners and law enforcement must have decided to make access in and out of this area challenging because it certainly is. The staff are professional and informative for different accommodations needed by guests. I was visiting a friend to drop off needed items. That friend spoke well of the staff.”

“NICE CLEaN anD QUIET PLACE.
Rooms: Clean and secure
Nearby activities: Pool club
Food and drinks: Super”
“I was really impressed by the Des Lux Hotel. The atmosphere and enviance were very eclectic. The rooms are huge by hotel standards. The hotel/halls were quiet. The gym and sauna and sitting areas were all well maintained. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and restful. I truly enjoyed the room which included a fireplace, a full-sized leather couch and a separate sitting area with a dinette table. Aesthetically, it was the best hotel room I've ever stayed in. Be advised that any room that is on the interior side of the hotel will have zero view and it isn't even worth opening the curtains. Even natural sunlight was reduced. Also on every floor, rooms 3 and 12 are going to be next to the elevator shaft and it is quite noticeable, especially during heavy use periods and at night (it woke me up a couple of times). Parking is either by meter on the street or in the city garage across the street, but it's only $10 per day and free on Sundays (no in/out options, you have to pay each time you exit). The hotel location is downtown, but there are several dining options within short walking distances. I would stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it to others.
Rooms: Don't stay in rooms 3 or 12 as they are next to a rather noisy elevator shaft”
