Great place to check out if you're in the Des Moines area. I believe the parking and entrance was free. A lot of cool stuff to look at and indulge in as well. I really liked the egg illusion thing that was outside.

Excellent staple in the Des Moines area. We visit frequently and for special events.The new director of the Art Center has done a great job in bringing energy and new ideas!
The Des Moines Art Center is a museum of Modern and Contemporary Art located in Des Moines, Iowa. The Art Center also includes the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park and a school for studio art education. There is no cost to visit the museum; admission is always free.
