The shelter went above and beyond providing excellent care for the cats we just adopted from them. We appreciate their adherence to excellence so much. The staff work hard for the animals here, hope they can continue to find support from their community and that the cats and dogs all find their forever homes.

I applied to surrender my old dog he is 12 and healthy they never responded I'm still waiting on waiting lists at 2 other places if the don't answer I'm going to abandon him because I cant afford to put him down and I have to move

No response regarding a stray dog that I've had in my garage since Friday. Multiple emails, stray form filled out, messenger messages, talked to the sheriffs office. However they do have time to post to social media. Beyond frustrated!! This dog deserves better but he cannot stay here much longer. He chases my cats and I had to lock up my kids' 4H rabbits in a shed.

A little over 5 years ago, we drove 7 hours from MN to come grab my forever kitties. I originally went to get one but saw she had a sister that looked just like her! I couldn't say no. They were nice enough to stay open a little later to wait for us since it was a far drive. It was during Christmas, 2 weeks after my childhood cat past away, and they said we got to choose how much we wanted to pay for them. I'm so glad we chose to go here.

This was the cleanest, best equipped and staffed shelter we have ever been to. We were given plenty of time to interact with the dog and for our own dog to interact as well. Absolutely the best experience we have ever had adopting a dog. And, she's a beauty ?

I was looking to adopt a cat after I had lost my 10 year old cat to cancer. I clicked “i don't know” on my application when they asked if I was going to declaw in case I looked at any of the older cats that were declawed from previous owners. I was denied over this. If you only want yes or no then only provide yes and no checkboxes. I was willing to give a cat a loving family and an amazing home. I redid the application and click no like they told me to and I never heard back. I went to the Dubuqe humane society instead. Filled out an application online and brought a cat home the next day. It was also significantly cheaper even with the money I spent on gas.
