I have been a customer of Marine Credit Union since a car dealership steered me their way for a car loan almost 10 years ago. The process went very smoothly at that time so I continued to bank with them. Recently, I reached out in regards to a loan and Ryan Holbrook was very helpful. Although the process took a few phone calls back and forth, he was polite and helpful, and I did not feel judged or uncomfortable while he went through my financial information. Even though I have moved somewhere that doesn't have a Marine Credit Union branch, I will make sure to stay with this bank because I have had generally good experience over the last decade.

Applied for loan, had excellent score, plenty of cash, etc, but employment wasn't long enough. Only needed loan for 500 and couldn't get it after 2 days of paperwork, missed calls, mixed up emails, etc, a hard pull on my 660 credit score. They knew I wouldn't qualify based off recent employment from the start but still did hard pull anyway and then made me chase them for 2 days. So now, reduced score and lost two days to getvthe funds elsewhere. I will be finding a different place to bank. Too many issues with this one and now this.

Absolutely horrible to deal with. They tell you one thing and do completely the opposite. None of them tell you the same thing when working on loans. I have excellent credit score and they quote you one rate and then time for loan try to make it 2% higher. They can’t take care of documentation correctly and have to submit multiple times. You don’t just deal with 1 person it’s multiple people. DO NOT work with them.

Horrible loan process. Tried to buy a camper through a big dealer and Marine called ME. Admittedly the camper I was trying to get was a little out of price range and they called me and made a counter offer and said find a camper within this price range and we can do it. I Find a camper and submit it. From here is was a disaster. Communication was horrible, not getting responses from emails or phone calls. Than they request additional info which was submitted. Week goes by don’t hear anything, now they need something else which would take some time to get and should have been said in the begining of process. When I ask why it is NOW being brought up I get no real answer. Of course camper sells because the process is a mess and takes forever. I repeatedly asked if I had everything I needed throughout the process and was assured I was until it was time to close the deal. A gigantic waste of time for everyone including them. Remember they called me with an counter offer and assured me I was good to go find a camper. I could have gone to another bank if they were upfront in the beginning and not wasted this time. At this point I would not recommend.Update, got a call from Ervin who was supposed to look into all of these issues. He was not helpful in anyway or respectful. I wrote this review and than received a call the next day. He set up a time to call at 2:30 to discuss more after he “investigated”. He doesn’t call at 2:30, his set time. I email at 3 asking what happened and he finally calls. He admitted he barely spoke to Loan officer and didn’t know any details of our talks, because “she was on lunch”. I asked why would you call me than and late. He immediately got rude and disputed facts because he didn’t talk to loan officer. I asked to speak to a manger besides Ervin and I have never heard from them again. Now that’s how you run a business!

Acquired my home mortgage through Marine Credit Union. Chris was GREAT!! She answered all of my questions and found answers if she didn’t know. I would give Marine CU 5 stars, but their online services aren’t 100% in comparison to the big banks.

They threaten when you’re behind on anything. They stole 300$ out of my account because my car payment was late and said they did it to get my attention yet I never got it back. They tacked on insurance and when I showed proof they didn’t refund me the correct amount! I hate this bank! The interest on anything is over 21% just crazy!

Chris is amazing! Chris was 100% compassionate to help guide us in the right direction. She helped our family quickly and was very communicative. I absolutely recommend her if you are looking for a loan, and she still communicates and answers questions in a very timely manner! Very thankful to have Marine CU, especially Chris!

Online login is junk. Won't let you login so you reset everything then as soon as you log out and then try to log back in it doesn't work. You start up new login, it says you already have one so you login with info it gives you and it doesn't work.

Used to be a good place to bank, not anymore.They hit me with 800 dollars in overdraft fees then told me if I brought my account current they would waive the fees.I covered all 800 dollars on fees then they said they couldn't refund the overdraft fees.I had banked with them for 12 years, not anymore.They are as bad or worse than the big banks.STAY AWAY!!

When I went to this CU 3 years ago, I was going thru a difficult time with taking care of my sick mom and needed something a little easier to transport her around in, and I went to Marine for help and absolutely loved my loan specialist at the time. Her name was Cassie and she was wonderful, she went out of her way to help me be able to get into a vehicle that I could count on to get my mother to and from all of her doctor's visits, she was so great that I decided to help my son get his first car loan from her, and after we paid off both loans, we went back for 2 more car Loans, and 2 personal loans, then my son received a 3rd car loan and a loan for a camper. Up until a 6 months ago we had no complaints, but then they started not returning calls, people referred were treated horribly, loan officers lost what could have been potentially larger loans because of how they treated people that we referred to them, than the started messing with my son so badly that he went to another CU, who bought his loans from Marine and did the loans for him at a much more reasonable rate and he has since closed all accounts through Marine. He wanted me to go also because he felt they would eventually do me wrong too, but me being a faithful customer, I stuck it out, until today. After the way a loan officer, named Ryan, treated me, I will be searching for a new CU and see if I can't get my loans moved to them. I thank Cassie for everything she did for me and my son, but since her leaving, its been pretty rough and today down right humiliating. I really never expected this when I worked with Cassie, but I should have figured there was a reason that this wonderful woman had left this place place for another and if I could find her I would, and now I understand why she left. There was a time I would have highly recommended this place, but now I'll tell you to find a different one if you can.

Really bad and unprofessional help. Also, good luck getting a call back from management to discuss anything. Including their employees discussing your private loan information with anyone. They also don’t understand what “I’m at work during these times, my lunch is at this time. Call then please” means. Good luck if you go with these guys. Glad I ended up taking business else where at the first sign of trouble.

I am sick to death of never getting a call back. Everytime I call they never have the answers to any of my questions about my loan.. I am always told they will put a request in and call me back.. either it takes days for a response or I get zero response. I was charged over $700 on my loan for non proof of insurance yet I have emails that were sent to them with my insurance. I honestly can't wait to be done with my loan and close the account there.

I worked with Chris and she made this process so simple for me. I have cancer and dont feel the greatest most days and she went out of her way to do a lot for me and make this happen. This loan has taken away a lot of the burden I have had recently and I appreciate everything you have done for me Chris Pace. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
