I can't say enough about Kimberly Crest. Our cat has a "rare in cats" cancer of the mouth. Our regular vet found it and we asked to see Dr. Laura Bahns. She was so good about explaining Myla's condition and even for her, it was a bit of a dilemia of how to handle it. Dr. Bahns preformed surgery on Myla, removed a tooth, the growth and a portion of her jawbone. We then went to the University of Wisc. for consultation. They wanted to put her through radiation which could have resulted in a temporary feeding tube. Or we could wait and keep an eye on her and see what happened. We opted for the later with getting xrays every 3 months to be sure it doesn't come back or go to her lungs. It's been almost 2 years and knock on wood,..so far so good. SO the surgery that Dr. Bahns preformed appears to have worked. We will continue to monitor her and pray it doesn't return. Just didn't want to put Myla who is almost 14 years old, through all that if we didn't have to. Not to even mention the cost of that treatment was going to be outrageous. We would have done it thought to save her life.

The exam for a second opinion lasted about 5 minutes. Was not thorough as others described. Paid $126 for 5 minutes & no full exam is bonkers. Go elsewhere.

My dog has IBD. After battling this for nearly 2 years now, she is declining.,they have all treated her very professionally as well as me. My primary vet could not figure out her problem and lacked resource's to do a scope, hence the move to KC. Dr's Bahn, Bueller and Taylor have all consulted and worked with my girl with the utmost aggressive approaches for het care. They are a team there, I can hear them referencing one another often while I'm in an exam room. I would recommend them to any pet parent who is up against special health issues. *****

Had I left a review for Kimberly Crest previous to 2023, it likely would have been a 5-star review. I had two 15-year-old dogs who were well taken care of by Dr. Bahns and the whole team at Kimberly Crest. They even sent me an award as a 'good pet parent' one year. I was quite the regular there as I care deeply for my pets and it seemed so did they. Fast forward to 2023. My 17 year old cat had been diagnosed with thyroid issues and was on medication supervised by a vet at Kimberly Crest. I was no longer allowed to see Dr. Bahns, which was disappointing, but nonetheless - I still trusted the place. In August I came home for my lunch break to find my cat in distress. Breathing very shallow and quick. I called and they instructed me to bring him right in. I did. Leaving in a hurry, I was not fully equipped with credit cards and such. I was worried about my cat and knew I had to cancel my afternoon of my own patients to ensure he would be okay. My cat was seen by a vet I recognized from 2015 when one of my dogs was in distress. I asked him to do xrays so he could truly see what was going on for my feline friend and was glad I did. It was not what Dr. T thought. He stated he would put him on prednisone and observe the remainder of the afternoon (less than 3 hours if memory serves). I'm thinking I'll go home for a bit and also look into my financial situation and assess where to charge this large chunk of change. They left me alone in a room for nearly 20 minutes after the news was delivered. After feeling forgotten, I left, signing the estimate that had been handed to me - which I left with front desk staff on my way out. I was yelled at and told they needed it signed electronically. Granted, I was not feeling good as I'm realizing these are likely my feline's last days. Why on earth can they not scan this document into their records? It was clear I was not leaving without agreeing to pay but they were quite aggressive about needing it 'electronically'. So, I came back and signed it 'electronically'. Apparently, that was not enough as my phone rang on my 7-minute drive home. My heart sank, as I'm thinking something happened to my cat in that short amount of time and I've not gotten to say goodbye to him. NOPE! It was the office manager calling to scold me about paying. She said if I couldn't pay I could just come back and get my cat. Knowing I had signed the document agreeing to pay, I simply said to her "the only person I care to speak with at this point is the vet." The office manager became cross and I hung up on her. Bad behavior, I understand. What happened to this place? I'm telling you the ONLY person who was SOMEWHAT empathetic towards me was Dr. T (the vet). When I came back to pick up my cat, though, I was not even afforded a conversation with the vet. They gave me prescription for prednisone and no other instructions. The bills was around $500 for that afternoon. I didn't know if I was to bring him back, if I was to expect improvements - no directions at all. I recall always getting a follow up call from Kimberly Crest in the past within the next day or two, following up on my pet. I received no call at all. My cat continued to struggle with breathing. He didn't eat or drink. He began hiding in the bathtub. The absolute best I received from anyone during this time came from an on call 'nurse' via the animal hospital in Bettendorf. She was empathetic and walked me through his symptoms. My cat died a pretty miserable death 4 days after I had taken him to Kimberly Crest. This was in August of 2023. I've waited this long to post a review with the hopes that it sounds as objective as possible after my heart healed a bit. My 6-year-old daughter still cries almost every day over this cat. To know that he meant so little to Kimberly Crest is what has largely led me to keep my animals away from them. I will never go back. The place has changed. It felt very much about money this time and that had never been my experience

We were recommended to Kimberly Crest from our family veterinarian Dr.Spencer for our fur baby's elbow dysplasia surgery. Kimberly Crest is top notch when it comes to providing knowledge and care before and after surgery for your pets. The staff is amazing and treat you and your pet as family.

I take all 6 of my animals here and the care they are given is above and beyond. Some might be taken aback by the prices but you have to go into it knowing that the time and care they take for treating your loved ones is beyond any other animal hospitals in our area. Most other vets will not monitor anesthesia while your animal is under for an operation but KCVH does. The doctors are very professional while being personable, and don't even get me started on the techs, they treat your fur babies like their own and go above and beyond to create a safe and calm space for them to be cared for. If I could give more than five stars I would.

Took my dog in as a referral for pericardial effusion. They were very helpful and up front about what to expect. Although I only gained a small amount of time with him, I am forever grateful for their kind words and knowledge. Thank you so much! Keep doing what you do!

Very knowledgeable. They want what's best for your pet. They will do everything they can to stay within your budget to make sure all care can be given. They have a seating area section for cats, so your little one can be comfortable.

When I first went here I was aware they might not have the equipment needed to do the surgery my cat needed. I was hoping since it was close that they might be able to offer some kind of care. My cat had recently been diagnosed with mammary gland cancer, I'd also like to say she is very sweet and loves people. Anyway here are the things I did not appreciate about my 2 appointments with Doctor Less 1. did not look me in the eye or speak to me, only spoke to my mom who came for emoptional support and knew basicly nothing about roxy's care. addressed all questions to her, and only made eye contact with her. It was like I wasn't there when I literally PAID this man like half my weeks paycheck. I can't say for sure, since he wouldn't speak to me, but this may be because I was a younger adults who is visibly queer. 2. He told me the surgery I was recommended for my cat was incredibly painful and borderline inhumane. I hate this comment and think about it every day cause I know how hard these surgeries ended up being. Today though roxy is the same as ever after the whole procedure, she even had a hard time. I think what made the difference at our other vets what the level of care the doctors showed Roxy and I, and I'll forever be thankful for it. I think her tumors worsening and killing her would have been more inhumane now and I fear how she would be if I listened to him. 2 doctors at my home vet and 2 surgeons at the 2 university vets I went to were appalled by this statement. Every day I am glad I pushed further. 3. In order to get the truth after realizing the depth of my bad experience, the truth ended up being that HE and his practice were not equipped. Which I would have fully understood and been sympathetic to. I had to call and ask why multiple times. I did this because I wanted to prioritize what was best for my cat and get her care swiftly. I also wanted to know why he wopuld say a procedure was inhumane when it was my best recommendation. 4. I asked about chemo as an option if things get worse, he told my mother that they prioritize chemo for patients already sick or dying. I understand the need for triage but al around he felt dismissive of any of my concerns. Not going to lie I think he didn't like that I am visibly queer. 5. He squeezed my cats tummy so hard she hissed. Roxy has NEVER hissed at anyone her whole life till this man. she went 12 years no hissing, but he made her. Immediately didnt feel comfortable. I tried to keep contact and didn't leave a review like this in case Roxy did need care here. but she is in full remission.

My cat was diagnosed with a rare condition at the end of February, and she was referred to Dr. Taylor with Kimberly Crest. He has been working with me, along with additional vets, to come up with a solution for her. Although it is frustrating, he hasn't given up on her, and that is all I can ask for. The staff are very compassionate and call to check on my cat's condition regularly. Thank you for helping me fight this battle while trying to give her the best chance possible!

Dr. Bahns is an awesome human and did an amazing job with my dog Jennie. She had a pretty extensive dental surgery, including 16 teeth extractions. She was personable, explained things well, and did a fantastic job with the surgery. Some reviews mention the waiver and not being able to continue care here following a procedure. My understanding is that other vets in the area refer here for specialty care with the understanding that their patients will come back to them following the procedure, hence the waiver.

I had a review up yesterday, but I took it down. It didn't do them justice. This vet center and it's staff, unbelievable how kind, caring, and considerate they are. They did so much for my good boi Koda... The girls there are amazing, the vet was awesome. Even though my good boi passed away, I can say I know he was happy his last day getting all the attention from them. I know this post still doesn't do justice to how grateful I am. I will never not recommend them. And a big shout out to Lainey, for goin above and beyond for us in this difficult time! I wish there were more people like you in the field.

I went to Kimberly Crest on the advice of my local Vet in Clinton. My 11 1/2 year old Lab is having some gum & teeth issues, and since Clinton doesn’t have dental X-ray capabilities, we were referred to Kimberly Crest. We saw Dr Laura Bahns, and I was very impressed with her! She sat on the floor and examined Hawkeye thouroughly. She explained possible reasons of his gingivitis and gave me a quote….Yes, it was higher than I expected….between $1,656 to $1,928, depending on what needs to be done? Now I love my dog thoroughly, but in this economic era, this seems like an unnecessary expense. My dog eats & chews OK, but you just don’t know whats going on inside his mouth? So I am debating & waiting?….maybe I’ll play the Mega Millions a little more and hope I win the lottery??. But I’ll most likely do it, because my dog is my fur child and I’d do anything for him just like most of you would do for your pets! You just can’t put a price on the amount of unconditional LOVE ❤️ that they give to you!

Kimberly Crest saved my dogs life! The advanced imaging that he needed immediately was either here, or driving 2+ hours away. He was referred in because of his dire situation, and the team jumped right in with a CT, then spinal tap. Dr. Bahns was very honest and straightforward with our dogs prognosis. It wasn't good. She was aggressive with his treatment...menengitis is a hard thing to beat. After 4 days of not knowing our dogs outcome, he is now walking on his own, and showing no signs of damage to his brain or body.As far as my interaction with the Kimberly Crest staff, they were a well oiled machine. Everyone knew their job, and they surpassed it. The doctor who treated Quincy is our earth angel. I pray that her knowledge, experience, passion, and kindness, will continue to carry her forward. We need doctors like her! Thank you all for your care. Quincy is getting stronger every day. We love and appreciate you!

Dr. Bahns is a fantastic vet. She loves our animals and cares deeply about their health. She's patient in her explanations and has helped several of our critters pass through to the great beyond is comfort and dignity.
