So much interesting information in the fascinating exhibits, and lots of neat items on display. Whether you have German in your ancestry or not, the German American Heritage Center & Museum is worth the visit!

We had a wonderful time at this museum. The information and artifacts were very well organized and helped you understand the experience of the German settlers in Davenport. We received a very warm welcome from the staff and some locals who added to our wedding anniversary celebration. We would love to come back and recommend anyone visit!

It is very interesting museum. Very well curated. It is housed in a hotel that housed many German immigrants from that time. So the location is also extremely relevant.

I've driven by there several times but had never stopped in to see it. I visited my daughter off campus at Augustana College and we decided to finally visit it since I'm half German. Enjoyed the history of German migration as well as German contributions to society. The original settlement in New Ulm, MN was highlighted and I've actually been there for a festival. Normally, adult admission to the museum is $5 but due to a special museum event in Iowa over Father's Day weekend, the admission was free.

We came here to kill time before going to Quad Cities River Bandits game. This used to be a derelict hotel and now a museum. The museum is self guided as 2nd floor is offices and 4th floor an event center or small exhibits. My mom's side are German immigrants from 1800-1900's. They had cool videos depicting the German immigrants strife arriving in the USA. Sadly, many babies and children died aboard the ships. The museum is small and we were done after 30 minutes. Thought about buying a German flag but at $15, was overpriced in the gift shop. Admission was $5 for adults and $4 for seniors, aka my husband. Review 92 in 2023

We had low expectations for this small (by museum standards), relatively unheralded attraction. But we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and depth of the exhibits. We easily spent two hours there and could have been there longer if we didn't have other obligations. We had no idea of the rich German heritage of Iowa and this was a great way to experience it.

I enjoyed it, but there was way to much to read, and not enough to see.

Stopped here to spend some time learning about the migration of Germans to America. The bottom floor is reception and gift shop. The 2nd floor is off limits and just offices. You have access to the 4th floor and can see a 270 degree view of the town and river. The 3rd floor is where the museum is located. Pick up a passport and follow one of the 4 immigrants through their travels from Germany to the US. We spent 2.5 hours here for $5 a piece. Lots to read and learn if you take your time.

We found the visit very informative with information on the area that is now Germany all the way back to the Roman Empire. It covers the evolution of the country and reasons for emigration to the USA. Then covers individual immigrant stories in both written and audio visual formats. Also covers stories on immigrant life in the USA into the 1900’s. We spent about two hours there, learned a lot.
