If you have any way of working with another bank, do it. These people will tell you wrong things all day long, which will cost you money, and will give you the weirdest non-answers when you drill down, making everything sound like it's a secret.

Super easy to understand why there is a 2 star average review for this bank. Honestly, that’s way too high. I’ll be pulling all my accounts and moving them somewhere else. Waited in line for 15 minutes, then was told I had to be there an hour in advance to open an account (which I was). Laziest employees I’ve ever seen at a bank.

From repeated experiences, this branch has at least two rude Tellers, and at least one disinterested account manager. The three are non white females. The situation in a nutshell is that a new Asian Teller could not get herself to look at us or greet us back when we said good morning. Ok. No biggie. Also, instead of saying what she wanted us to do, she kept tapping her nails on the machine every time an entry was needed without looking at us. OK, no problem. Then when we were ready to get our money which was in her hand, she kept us waiting. I asked, what are we waiting for. I get silence and a conspicuous eye contact avoidance. OK, let's get the money and get out I told my wife. When finally, money was counted and left on the counter, I asked if we could get an envelope; $3000 is not a small amount to just toss and walk away holding in hand. Our request was met with disdain, and she tossed the envelope and asked us in a rude tone to step aside so she can take the next customer. We are not done, and it was a mistake I was not vocal about it and got the attention of everyone in the bank. I stopped by a cubicle of a Latin account manager on my way out, and told her that the teller was rude, she reluctantly and faintly said sorry without looking. OK. My wife was infuriated when we reached the bank door on our way out and she decided to go back to talk to the branch manager, and while waiting for him she could not help noticing the exchange of a smirk between the Asian teller and the Latin account manager. Ignore them was the message. Throughout this encounter, we maintained our composure and politeness, and we were somewhat still uncertain about the reason for this treatment. Regrettably, we have decided to have both our accounts closed once the latest check clears, as we seek better banking services elsewhere. For Wells Fargo: We sincerely hope that future customers, irrespective of their background, do not have to experience such unprofessional conduct at your bank. Our decision to leave is not made lightly, and we trust that you take this feedback as an opportunity to address and improve the quality of service you offer.

I went to the Coralville branch to open a basic checking and savings account. I did not have an appointment and was told by a customer service representative that he had an appointment in 30 minutes and couldn’t help me because it would take 35 minutes to an hour-to open a basic account-nothing fancy, no overdraft no credit card. I can’t believe a bank would turn away a customer with money to open an account.

Easily the worst banking experience I've ever had. Made an appointment in advance to deal with some account changes. Arrived on time and met the account specialist, who immediately told us that he couldn't actually accomplish what we came in for without help from the main office. That wouldn't have been so bad except that we then sat staring at him for over 45 minutes while he waited for the main office to actually answer their phones. Finally we gave up and left, no closer to getting anything accomplished since he was still on hold as we walked out the door. Hope to never go back.

Would consider a slightly higher rating if phone, web, and app services weren't garbage

I have banked with Wells Fargo for over 20 years and today I decided to close every single account I have with them. I filed a claim due to Orbitz charging me for a “fake” airline ticket back in August. Wells Fargo would not stand behind me, the customer, and fight this fraud. So, I’m moving all my accounts to a better bank (that got 5 stars, not 2.4). Too bad Wells Fargo, I’m also preparing to purchase some property and I wouldn’t dream of thinking of you to help me finance this big purchase. You lost a VERY loyal customer today.

They love to change up charges to make increase the amount of overdraft fees. Then they send me 5 dollars to make up for it.go somewhere else. I promise you you'll have a better bank

Almost couldn't pay rent because they unprocessed my girlfriends payments to switch stuff up to give us more overdraft fees.Seriously, go to a different bank, They are predatory and unethical by design. Look their history up on Google. Since at least 2013 they have been doing this stuff to people and it hasn't stopped. I'll make sure to leave reviews each time it happens though :).

My daughter wanted to cash in her change and Megan, the teller manager, refused to take it because it would take her too much time. The last time I checked quarters, dimes, and nickels are US currency and Wells Fargo is a bank. I am unsure how Megan can decide she would not like to take this money.

The staff - at least the tellers - when I stopped by last week to deposit my earnest money in another person's account - were SUPER RUDE. And what kind of bank doesn't accept cash? Or charges $5 for a money order - BUT TO GET A MONEY ORDER FROM WELLSFARGO YOU HAVE TO BE A CUSTOMER. Seriously. Anyways, went to the nearby gas station, got a money order for 99¢, came back, STILL got attitude, but got the deposit made. The only positive thing I can say...they used to have an awesome lady named Emily that was a teller, got promoted to her own desk space... Idk if she still works there, or if she's moved on to better opportunities...BUT if you have to go to this horrid place, and happen to see her; do say hello. :)

I open up a new checking account onlineI go into the actual bank location, met with Olivia and she tells me I owe her more money for checks. I showed her 2 receipts, she still didn’t acknowledge.I then wanted to update my app log in and she wasn’t even capable of doing this. My Advice is find a different bank where your a client and not just a number
