Do not use! We brought in our 2 dogs to stay at their Pet Hotel while we were on vacation. We bought the dogs a suite, with calming scent and white noise, and the ability for them to have their toys. Pet Smart did not give our dogs any of the amenities we paid for. They put two dogs weighing in at a combined 170lbs in a 3x5 kennel, and then called us and demanded we travel home because one of the dogs was "aggressive." Their actions riled up the dog. They failed to provide the services that were promised. They failed to rectify the situation. The hotel manager was particularly vial to use and lied that she had returned calls. We will never use them or that store again.

I'm very angry , we brought our dog for grooming on the 06/14/24 at 0900 at the Clive location in Des Moines IA. The groomer deep cut our dogs nails to where it was swollen, the right back leg is sore and swollen. Her ears have sores from cutting the hair too deep. We took her to the vet and she said they injured the dog so bad. Our dog has been very defensive and at times bites when you try to pet her. She never behaved like this before. I'm / we are very disappointed and annoyed. I think the groomer was new. We will not take our dog there ever again. Please don't let another dog go through this ever.

I brought my 6 yr old 17 lb dog in for grooming, I'm new to Iowa & I was told that people are so nice here. When I picked the dog up i held onto their leash because I left mine in the car. Back at the car I saw that the receipt was for $75! I phone to ask about it but hung up after 5 mins & I went in both to return their leash & to ask about what was listed as "Special Handling $10". That person looked over at an older woman at the other register who immediately jumped in as though looking for an argument. Like an old snarling dog she was heavy with nasty attitude and said that he was biting & they needed a second person to hold him. In 6 yrs no groomer had ever complained about biting before, but I didn't doubt her. I just said that I would have liked to know. She claimed not to understand what I meant. I told her that when I paid I would have liked to know about the charge & the fact that my dog was biting. Needless to say, I won't be going back, and I wasn't surprised to see so many 1* ratings. I should have checked YELP! first.

Clive store has a serious problem with BOOKING ONLINE GROOMING.Twice On two different occasions, I booked online and an hour later they call back and say I booked a time NOT available. How is that? I pick what is on the screen. I'll be goin* somewher else due to in convenience and FRUSTRATION! BOOOOOOO!

Terrible job grooming a Golden Retriever. Shaved the fur! Don't take your golden there to be groomed. The shaved the feathers on both the front legs and back legs.

Scheduled my dog to get groomed through their online reservation option. Arrived and they said they accidentally signed her up for a groomer and she was too big for this particular groomer. She's under 30 pounds which I had selected on the website when making her an appointment. "Best they could do" was offer 25% her grooming at another time. While I waited for them to figure out something, I watched the room and saw how gross the grooming area was kept. Fur everywhere from dogs that were no longer being groomed. An old broom used on the floor then immediately used to wipe off beds the dogs are on during their grooming. Decided to leave and will not be returning.

Terrible at grooming. They chopped my pups hair and it looks like I did it myself. I'm suprised they let him go like that. I'm not very picky but this is ridiculous. It looks like someone took a clipper to him blindfolded! Unprofessional!

I've never had issues taking my dog to any other petsmart or petco for a nail trim. The guy that checked in my dog was very anxious himself and made my dog feel anxious. My dog barked at him when he bent down to put a collar around his neck and he then chose to refuse to give him service because he didn't feel comfortable working with him. Maybe find a new line of work if you can't handle dogs being anxious around a stranger putting a collar on him. Go to a different petsmart. This one sucks.

If I could give zero stars I would. I got my dog groomed twice & the first time was amazing the second time they didn't do half of the stuff I paid for. When speaking to the grooming manager I was hung up on. Would never take my dog back there

Long-time customer having boarded 2 successive dogs over 15+ years. Called on Monday to board the dog over this coming weekend and they have no record of us. Spent 30+ minutes on the phone with them and ultimately had to set up a new account to establish the reservation. We're supposed to drop the dog off tomorrow for three days and thought it wise to affirm the reservation. Called Petsmart and once again, they have no record of us. Our long weekend to visit our young granddaughters in IL is foiled. No other openings around town and Petsmart couldn't care less. Never again.

I went in here one afternoon last week. The line to check out was long. As usual everyone is short staffed, but I hate it when management or a senior staff person comes to help a cashier and doesn't help checking out and shortening the line. I'm sure there's a good reason for it, but you have customers right there just waiting to give you their money, TAKE IT!!! The cashier was polite and efficient.
