I came in late and employee was extremely courteous and helpful. They explained the value of different price points and gave me the exact product I needed in a few minutes.

These guys are very helpful. Pricey maybe but you get that one on one attention from the employees. Internet has nothing on it, same with returns. They get it all done for you. Thanks!

My visit to O'Reilly Auto Parts was a mixed bag. I went in to purchase a new car battery after mine decided to call it quits unexpectedly. Although the staff was polite and tried to be helpful, they seemed to be short-staffed, resulting in longer wait times. Additionally, the selection of batteries was somewhat limited, and I had to settle for one that wasn't exactly what I wanted. Not the smoothest experience, but I did manage to get what I needed in the end.

I've been on PTO for the past few days...just burning up time I have to burn before the end of the first quarter so I don't lose it. No big plans. Just spending some time with the kids, parents, and kicking around. On the way home from my parents' place on Tuesday evening I had a check engine light come on up by Stanhope on Hwy 17. I still had to take the kids home to their mom's (near Norwalk) and then drive back to my place in Clive. It was solid...not blinking...so it probably wasn't anything catastrophic. I've blown two head gaskets in my past and seized up one engine so I can say that my butthole puckered up just a little the rest of that ride home (about 80 miles in total were left to go). I got home and started stressing a little, but got to sleep. The next morning I started checking into what I needed to do. I found online that O'Reilly's will do free code checks on check engine lights. I showered up, got dressed and headed that way. The guys at the Clive location were great. Ran the codes and gave me a print out. He did tell me that the codes generated were sometimes general and not 100% accurate. They won't clear the warning so that light stays on...they just check the codes for you. It was showing problems with my emissions/catalytic converter. A quick search showed that replacing a catalytic converters is about $1,300 in parts and labor. Ugh. I took the print out to the Midas in Clive. The guy at the front desk was great. He looked at the print out. Made it clear that emissions do involve the catalytic converters, but there are other things like O2 sensors, etc. in play. He asked me the year and miles of the car and then he laughed and said it was highly unlikely that it was my catalytic converter. He asked me if I knew how to clear the check engine light. I'd already Googled that. Remove the negative battery connection for a couple of minutes and hook it back up on a GMC vehicle. He told me to do that and he also asked if I ran ethanol. I do. He recommended getting a good fuel additive, filling up with Premium for a couple of tanks, and getting it out of town and to "drive it like I stole it." Lol He said if the light did come back on to bring it in and the would hook it up and dig in deeper, but he didn't want me to waste my money. That's important to me too! I was kind of taken aback. It's not often right now that you find great people who provide good customer service and think about you more than just with their own wallet in mind. Or at least it kind of seems like it's less often than it used to be... The light hasn't come back on and I hope it stays that way. I didn't put a lot of miles on yesterday, but I put quite a few miles on today in town, on highways, and the interstate. I'm hoping it stays that way if the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise... I appreciate the guys at both O'Reilly's (Clive) and Midas (Clive). It was nice to deal with people who weren't going for an immediate cash grab... I know they really helped relax me when my anxiety was kicking in thinking worst case scenarios. As an added note... A lot of farmers in rural Iowa are burning off parts of their land and ditches right now. I ran through some really heavy smoke on the way home. In hindsight the heaviest was North of Stanhope. I read online that smoke from wildfires etc. can sometimes impact your car's sensors... Could have just been a coincidence too.

I believe it was the owner I spoke with over the phone. I explained some mobility challenges getting into the store. He was empathetic and offered to allow me in the back door so I wouldn't damage my powerchair. Before having to go through the work of getting around there he probed a little and explained the why's behind a solution I left with that day. Fixed the problem like a champ!

I needed new windshield wipers. I first stopped at Napa bc it was closer to work. After 10 minutes of the only acknowledgment I got asking me if I was with door dash, I left. I went to Oreilly’s where Noah immediately greeted me. He was super kind and up beat. He explained which wipers he recommends for my suv, rang them up, and put them on my vehicle for me. He made my day. We need more Noahs in the world!!!!

I went to the O'Reillys on 100 Street here in Clive. I wanted my battery tested and the gentleman said yeah it's dead. I had to have a customer speak on my behalf because I'm a female, and say she asked for her battery to be tested! He said OK here's your ticket. We will call you tomorrow. I did not receive a call so therefore I had to call them and that person then said yeah your batteries dead. Do you want to come get your battery and start your car? I said well if it's a dead battery, then how am I gonna start my car , I said I am about to get a new car so I don't wanna spend too much money. What's a one year battery he said $130 I said OK would you set one aside for me and he said yes. I said I will send my son in who is a senior in high school to pick this up tomorrow , my son goes to pick up the battery and there's two guys working and they told him that they don't have my battery and sold him a battery for over $200! When my son gets home, put the battery and I look at the bank account and I said why did you spend over $200 he said they told me they didn't have a one year battery. They only have a two-year battery. I then call the store and ask for the manager and he said yes, we have a one year battery , I said I need to talk to a general manager. Unfortunately they were all in Florida on a meeting or something but he called his supervisor and said that I could come back in and exchange the battery which I told him the first gentleman told me that if I took a battery out and put it in my car that I could not return it if it was not the battery and that's why I asked for it to be tested . I usually go to AutoZone for these reasons because I am treated so poorly because I am a female. Every time I go there they tell me to go up the street to the Valvoline to have them help me with anything at AutoZone. They called me and said you can come get jumper cables you can come get a jump pack whatever you need we're here to help you, at that point, it was after 6 o'clock at night it was dark. I cannot see to drive there to take the battery out. I was told that they do not help you take the battery out which that was another lie and I was in the middle of filling out FASFA papers for my child so I am now out $70 for a battery that I'm only going to use for another month on this car , I do not recommend going to O'Reillys. I used to use them in the past two of my vehicles for parts cause I had a side mechanic and this is how I've been treated as a female customer for many many years and this is why I stopped going there. I should've known better than to go back to the store but it was cold and it was close and I thought maybe I would get a better Customer Service experience but that did not happen! I do know my vehicles I am 50 years old and I grew up with vehicles and rebuilding cars with my father. I do not like the way I was treated I do not like the way that this was handled and I do not like the way that they lied to my son who is a senior in high school just so that they could make an extra $70 , I would recommend going to AutoZone! I will never return to O'Reilly's ever again. And I will make sure that I will make enough reviews that they loose over $70!

Terrible customer service. He seemed like he didn't want to help me. Didn't greet me when I walked in. Then when I asked if he was available, his answer was, "I'm standing here aren't I?" Then I asked for his help deciding what battery I needed and he told me that he wasn't a mechanic. I don't need a mechanic, just someone who knows auto parts in an auto parts store... will not be back. Don't take your bad day out on someone looking to spend money in your store.

Needed trailer bearing and sales clerk had no clue what to do, 5 other employees there and he didn't even try to utilize maybe one other sales clerk who might know how to help. Ended up a Autozone and they was able to help and found a bearing got me back on the road. O'Reillys has really gone down hill these past few years. I try to avoid if at all possible usually I'll end up online shopping for parts. Only maybe 1% of my parts I buy go to the local oreillys parts store last resort only. I Prefer Autozone Advanced Auto or even Napa before I use o'Reilly
