I brought my car in for an issue that I thought was small but ended up being far more significant than I expected. Laz and his crew did such a wonderful job of advising me of my options and flipped the switch from looking at through the lens of repairs needed to advising me on the best way to move forward. I could have potentially been out several thousand dollars and I truly feel that because of the guidance and expert opinion I received, I am in a completely different financial position than I could have been. I have never been treated as fairly and respectfully as I have with Laz and CBA. I am eternally grateful that I went to CBA for this situation. Laz and crew have earned a customer for life.

Hi All,
I just recently visited with one issue that I had with my car i.e oil leak. they fixed it very genuinely and front desk guy Zac is very nice and they did full inspection to my vehicle and it’s awesome quick and clear report with visual video would help anyone to understand what the issue they fixed.
I would recommend visiting this place if you are looking for full inspection to your vehicle

I’m hoping it’s a fluke - we’ve come to Christian Auto Brothers a handful of times and overall the experience has been great. They have great amenities including; coffee, snacks, rides to and from where ever you need to go while they have your car, and frankly some incredible customer service at the front desk.
The last two times we’ve gone we’ve paid for them to do a full inspection of our car, both times within 2024. We value maintaining our car and try to keep on top of all the maintenance so we go as soon as possible when something arises.
Unfortunately, the last two times we’ve gone, hours before we’re supposed to pick up our vehicle they call saying they’ve just now driven our car and discovered something else that will cost us hundreds of dollars more. The reasoning is that they “use their time” where they think is “necessary” for that time in the shop. Which I somewhat understand, but I cannot fathom that driving it around the block isn’t involved in a full inspection that is an added service that we’ve paid for. They told us that there isn’t a checklist that they go through for every car, they do different things for each car.
While I appreciate their customized approach for every car and customer, not driving the car feels like a huge oversight. Especially considering the issue last time was a loud noise that happened when the car was drove at any speed or distance, so I’m confused how it wasn’t found when they were simply moving the car into the shop.
This time, they tested our battery on Friday and it was 513cc and passed the load test and we were specifically told it was healthy and holding a charge. On Monday morning we were called and told that the car wouldn’t start and that they strongly recommend that we spend nearly $350 for a new battery installation because they tested our battery and it was now at a 191cc. We were told if we didn’t drive everyday for at least 15 minutes our car would need jumped everytime we wanted to use it now with the health of the battery being tested so poorly now, and that if the weather was ever to cold this winter it could be the end of the batteries life. They said that they had no idea what happened in that time and it was probably from not being driven for over 24 hours and it was the first night that it was below 50 degrees.
Normally, I could understand that, but that’s a huge jump. It wasn’t near freezing temperatures and this car goes long durations between drives very frequently. They didn’t seem sure either with their explanation. We asked around with other mechanics and they said that they’d be shocked that our battery would jump that low for those reasons. This battery is less than two years old, held a charge, and was 513cc less than three days prior.
We paid for the new battery because at the end of the day we want a reliable vehicle. I’m confused how a mechanic doesn’t drive a car before diagnosing issues and how I got my car back with all headlights burnt out without them ever noticing or telling us. Also, we were told that our oil was completely empty and burnt but we just got an oil change on 07/24/24 with premium oil and our vehicles said our oil life was on 44% which is typically about doubled when you have premium, so should’ve been around 88%. But, when told that they never looked into anything such as a leak, etc.
I can’t help but wonder if a light was left on over the weekend. It’s just really frustrating to get conflicting information and opinions depending on who you talk to and to have information given to you that they don’t 100% seem confident in themselves and then to be given an extra bill of over $300.
I will give them one more chance because I know I’ve had exceptional experiences with them in past, but they have two strikes from us.

Highly, highly recommend Christian Brothers Automotive! I do not possess enough positive words to describe their stellar service, their honesty, their professionalism and their compassion. I have used their services on two occasions, and have been SO impressed with them. They never miss a detail, they provide videos and photos of every step they take to evaluate and diagnose your vehicle. In addition, they have the kindest, friendliest and most patient staff!
Although I think all their staff is top notch, the most recent person that assisted me was Laz. He was friendly, sympathetic, professional, and gave me his honest assessment. This business is a breath of fresh air.
MY ADVICE from my personal experience, is that if you are interested in buying a used car….have them do an inspection first. It’s worth every penny. They check every single part of the vehicle, from the engine, pumps, tires, right down to the light bulb above the license plate. And they back up EVERYTHING with photos and videos, so it’s proven they are giving you the best advice possible. And of course, they should be everyone’s go-to for any vehicle repairs needed.
I will continue to send my friends and family to them for any automotive repair or assessment needs. Thank you, Christian Brothers, you’ve restored my faith in humanity!

There's no better place to have a repair done. If you care about your vehicle and want to make sure its properly maintained, this is the place to go. Why bother with all the hassle at shade tree shops and over-priced dealerships that don't value you or your vehicle. When you come here, you are valued by company based on honest values, integrity and rooted in the desire for excellence. Christian Brothers has set the standard for what I expect in an automotive repair experience and you should not settle for less than the best. Very clear on communicating issues involving car and what they will do to resolve it. A genuine feel good energy that makes it a place I enjoy taking my business. Have done several repairs for me over the years and always leave there feeling confident in my vehicle, and satisfied that I got great service. Would strongly recommend making this team your go to team for auto repair here in Waukee.
